D Money -I like the back rest and the overall look. Did you request the back seat be built up super high or is was that just artistic freedom on the part of BMS. I ask b/c mine's on the way back to me UPS from BMS and I said I like the idea of the back rest. I'm hoping they look like yours. No more Monkey Arse for you my friend! Enjoy the weekend and thanks for the post.

I didn't request it but like others had said, they are being built that way so yours should look just the same. If you look at the stock pax seat there is a downward slant cut on the front of the seat that is not really providing any functional use. Looks like they are taking advantage of that area. The passenger is also widened in the back. Its almost touching the grab rails.

Looking at your pictures, it appears your pax seat may be built up more than mine. As I mentioned before, this could be due to the height and/or weight of the pillion.

I just measured my pax seat and it is 13" wide and the "step" between it and the rider's seat is about 4.5" .

Wow, got mine today and just ran a couple errands... only about 10 miles but I can tell it's going to be much better.

Mine is the basketweave and it doesn't feel slick at all to me. It does feel like there's more tilt forward but when I make sure I sit towards the back of the seat it's gone so I would imagine some more break in time and it will be perfect... feels good, not hard and not soft. In June I should be able to put some 500-600 mile days on it and that will give me a good idea how nice it will be but I'm pretty happy as-is. The quality is excellent

Has anyone ridden extended miles on their new BMS seat? I just returned from a four day and 1,450 mile trip. I rode 399, 389, 378, and 289 mile days. Rode long and a lot of fast (for me) twisties, slow gravel and hard packed clay. Very few freeway miles. The first three days my ass hurt after 300 miles and the last day hurt after 200 miles.

Like the seat but it is not as comfortable as I need it to be. Any suggestions?

So Tim you have your BMS seat now and it still hurts you? I know you can go back for a refit maybe the seat needs to be sculpted some more. Not sure if that is an option for you to go in person or not but BMS will work with you to get your seat the way you want it. Tammy even told me they had to work seats for folks with bad prostates so they could still ride. Don't give up let them work it some more for you.

I just tried my BMS saddle for it's first long day. Left Aurora CO about 5:15 this morning and rolled into Harrah OK (about 20 miles east of OK) about 5:00 Colorado time. 650 miles with temps anywhere from about 45 to about 90. The only discomfort was due to the heat. I was starting to squirm toward the end of the ride, but I think it was due to the heat and not the seat.

I'm happy!

Yep, you done good! We did 500 miles in 10 hours a week ago coming back from Ingram, Tx. I have the stock seat, and I sat all over that thing and at one point I even tried scooting back and sitting on the pillion seat (which normally I cannot reach), which felt pretty good but had trouble seeing under my helmet visor.

I know that we buy better saddles after the stock one but I don't think there is a miracle seat!

Finally got a chance to try my bms seat last weekend . 1000 miles in and around the ny finger lakes region. Temps were mostly between low and mid 40's. Bottom line is that it feels great. Support in the right areas and cushioning where it counts. Well worth the price for me.

Just did a 3 day ride with my wife. We did around 750 miles total. Our route was from South KC to Hermonn, Mo. This included rain on the first day. We rode mainly county/state paved roads as well as some gravel that had a few water crossings due to all the rain. Its definitely a significant improvement over the stock seats. My wife indicated that the passenger seat is a lot better as well. She is no longer constantly sliding forward. My tailbone is no longer going numb and it has taken the pressure directly off my butt bones and spread it out.

We are definitely happy.

Man it's great to read all the good reports on the BMS seats. I am really happy with mine as well and I love the pax seat as a back rest works great and looks great. I sure did use the word great a lot in this sentance.
