Installed Denali D4's with the Denali bracket on my 2020. They turn nite into day.View attachment 84349
those are very likely the lights I will be choosing but will probably buy the amber version for $45 more because the color Makes them really extra noticeable to other drivers. Tenere needs to go in for a valve check so I’m going to talk to the mechanic about maybe installing the lights for me.

I went a little crazy last year and installed a set of Denali D7 and Baja Designs Squadron Pro. Let's just say the night time isn't anymore. But I did find that I get flashed in the daylight with anything but the Bajas on low. At night, I can only use the Denalis when there's no oncoming traffic, which fine. My main purpose was to get as much visibility for rural roads and deer/wildlife. But the Bajas on low have been great for visibility by other traffic. I get seen that much better and it's noticable in how cagers behave.

I have a pair of the amber lenses as well. I use them if i know I'm not going to be out late. Only takes a minute to swap them.

Looks like there are four screws to remove in order to remove the amber lens, is that correct ?
So apparently the amber lenses reduce the lighting effects in the dark ?
Does anyone know anything about warranty on Denali lights ? I haven’t noticed anything about warranty on their website.

Well I ordered the Amber Denali D4 kit today, total cost $644.95 and I earned a $32.45 credit to use on next order, everything comes with a 5 year free replacement warranty. Plan is to mount the lights on T-Rex racing crash-bars. Most of The stuff is on back order and is supposed to ship about October 7th. That’s a lot of money to hopefully solve a lighting issue that Yamaha should have taken care of years ago.

I just checked out these lights on the link you provided. They list on the site for $474.98. What am I missing? Thank you.

well the clamps to mount them to my crashbars were extra, the orange lenses were extra, I think one of the switches was extra.
they told me on the phone that they are 100% plug and play but they definitely are not.
the lights are working fine but I’m pretty disappointed in the high-low-off switch, other than the position of the switch there is no indicator of if they are turned on or off or high or low.
I only received one set of O rings to seal the lights and switching lenses is a pain because of having to switch the O rings, I might be calling them and asking for some extra O rings to make switching lenses easier.
so far I’ve ridden only a little over 100 miles with the new lights and only a few miles after dark so it’s to early for me to really evaluate them properly, I plan to ride it another 500 miles or so this weekend then probably put it away until next spring.

Did you get the "datadim" wiring harness, and the on/off switch? Mine are on low beam when the ignition is on and switched to hi when high beam is turned on.

yes I do have the “Datadim” switch which has the choices of high, off and low, all those choices work but it would be much nicer if the switch would light up and indicate what position it’s in when riding in the dark. The regular on-off switch has not been installed.

Are you saying that when you put your factory Yamaha bright-dim switch in the high beam position it automatically switches your Denali lights to high beam along with the factory headlights ?

Yes. Which wires did you use? The Denali on/off switch is illuminated.

Pics of my wiring for you.
First pic is of the fuse box where you tap into the light brown wire for switched power.
Third pic is with the fuse box pulled out a bit.
Second pic is of the top rubber boot with the pink wire for the hi beam trigger blue wire.20211106_152139.jpg20211106_152024.jpg20211106_151727.jpg

Thanks for the pictures and explanation, I would also like to see a picture of your switches and where they are mounted. Were the Positaps included in your kit from Denali ?

Thanks for the picture showing the switch lighted , is that a three position switch ? I received 2 switches the one that I thought was the data dim switch is three position low-off-high and the other switch that has not been installed seems to be two position so maybe the wrong switch has been installed ?

It's a two position switch. On and off. You must have a switch that is used if you don't have the datadim. With Datadim, no switch is really necessary. Your hi beam switch does everything. The lights stay on low whenever the ignition is on.

So you didn’t receive 2 separate switches from Denali like I did ?
What was your reason for installing a switch if no switch is needed ?
I would love to be able to control the Denali lights with just the factory Yamaha high-low beam switch, hopefully I will eventually get it figured out, the very limited instructions that came with my lights sure ain’t much help.

I will use this thread as I need myself a pair of lights, first I checked DENALI's website and wanted to buy a pair of S4, but after this video I want a pair of D4.

To be honest, I will probably use them 10 times in a year, so I think ill stick with S4, cheaper, and probably enough for my use.
I don't do off-road neither, so I should be fine.

But I need crash bars to install them, let's see how Santa Gifts big are :D

#1 - I'm not big on Posi-Taps. Crimped connectors work just fine and if the water proof ones are not available, I fill each end with silicone sealer.

#2 - Still like the Rigid light tucked under the nose. Never out-run the beam at night nor worried about hurting it if the bike goes on it's side.
Just remember that the front fender has a 7.5" travel and can crush bigger lights or be broken by them.

I am not big on anything crimped but prefer to solder all connections with heat shrink over them. Nothing worse than bad crimps comming lose and falling off or creating a high resistance and frying other components or creating electrical gremlins IMO
