Barkbuster recommendations?

Hay all:

My problem: Almost every fall for me involves a broken bark-buster and/or clutch/brake lever. I've got the plastic ones which (I believe) come standard but have seen some which look sturdier (ie: aluminum construction).

My question: what do y'all recommend for STURDY bark-busters? I'd like to be able to fall AT LEAST once without having to replace a buster/clutch lever/brake lever.

Thank-you in advance!

You can also get inexpensive (under $30.00/pr) aftermarket "folding" levers that will flip up if you fall, so as not to break, on Ebay.

one other thing i do on MX bikes
put a pice of plastic from a pop bottle under teh clamp of a perch, this allows it to rotate on impacts . seems to work very well .
Just bump with palm to put back to position.

HDB makes a very solid kit. We have them on our 250s. I especially like the center clamp piece for mounting stuff, but the entire package is incredibly well made.

I've got the Barkbuster Storms on my S10. Just put them on over the winter. I like the metal frame (a little less beefy than HDB, but still good) and the larger handguard. Separating the alignment of the guard from the controls is a real plus, allowing for a bit more customization. Haven't been able to test them in cold weather, but that will eventually happen. Should be an improvement over OEM.
