Assistance with understanding rear wiring....

I am installing some P3 Skene lights with turn signals. Below is a diagram of how they should wire up. My question is, on the turn signal wiring. I *think* am looking at the right side turn signal wiring. I have taken off some of the insulation to reveal the wiring. There appears to be two wires in there and they appear to be stuck together. One is a black wire and the other is a green wire. I am assuming I can pull those apart so I can wire up only to the green wire. Sorry for the newbish question, but I don't want to screw this up.

My suggestion is to get a test light and make sure. According to my service manual you are correct green wire is right turn signal.
