Anyone using a windshield bag?

Hi all. On my cruiser I use a windshield bag to hold a few items like my garage door opener, sunglasses, whistle. It's easily accessed, small, and tucked between the bars and windshield it is (mostly) waterproof. There isn't an obvious place to mount one on the Super Ten. What is everyone using to hold these kind of items?

I'm not a big fan of tank bags but my resort to one if I can find one small and unobtrusive.

I have seen some crash bar bags that could go on my Givi crash bars. That may be the option I go with.

Thanks,
Jon

I have a small magnetic Oxford Tank Bag. 1 Iitre in size it is small and unobtrusive. It will hold plenty of pocket knicknacks including my Garmin, and a battery pack. Even with a safety strap, it takes about 5 seconds to remove to either carry away or throw in my one of my cases.

https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/oxford-m1r-micro-magnetic-tank-bag I am not endorsing or shilling Revzilla they just happen to have a good listing for it

I will be curious what you decide to do

Do you carry a whistle to signal for help if you need it? If you do, I'd carry that on my person rather than on the bike. It won't be much use to you if you crash and you're separated from your motorcycle.

Good suggestions guys. I had considered that Givi 5L but it sure looks big.

I like the size of that Oxford tank bag. I'll read some reviews.

Yes, I carry the whistle to signal for help. It's more a place to store it. I attach it to my jacket when I'm riding areas I might need it. I don't see the need for it while in the city or commuting.

Thanks,
Jon

I am one of the cheap skates on the forum so I use a fanny pack. I cut the belt off and then use a soldering iron and melt holes in it to thread zip ties through. I tie it to my handle bars. I keep sun glasses reading glasses flash light and i can even put my phone in there to charge it on long trips when i am camping. Like you i am not a fan of tank bags. I have had great luck with these and they are cheap! Sorry I don't have a picture right now but can get one later on.

A friend of mine gave me a Giant Loop handlebar bag. Not huge, but it holds phone, wallet, etc. Works well and I think waterproof (never had an issue with rain).

i did this. what I did was use a pencils pouch with compartments (which just gave the measure) and covered it with ecological leather. Inside I can carry the cell phone, identification, charger cable, etc. I made it a long cap that hugs the accessory bar and closes with a thick velcro

Oh I like that. I may need to see if I can find a bag to tuck in that same spot. Do you ever find that it is in your view?

Where do you have this bag mounted? I've looked at bicycle bags so I've got an idea what it looks like.

Neat set up. It should not interfere with your view. At 30 MPH you should be looking at least 88' ahead and what he made should be well below that site line.

I have my Garmin located on the accessory bar and it does not affect my needed view at all. At first I was worried it would but there was no adjustment. Like the bag, it is out of my sight line

It will not be difficult for you to find because usually, the pencils are the same length ... and that length fits right between some tabs of the windshield height regulator, you just have to look for the one that is made of a flexible material
it's just an idea of where you can look, I don't need to look… I just “stole” it from my wife:)

A Kriega pocket bag that goes on their rucksack fits between the mounts on the bars and is easily removed as it uses velcro
