I just found out that my new-to-me 2017 Super Tenere needs the rear caliper carrier . ( Insert curses here ) . It's the part the rear axle passes through , and the torque rod attaches to .
As I was re-installing the wheels with new Mitas E07 tires , a screeching noise was coming from the rear brake as I spun the wheel by hand . Upon investigation , part of the casting in which the brake pads slide is broken away . Blasted PO must have known , as the pads have obviously been in and out previously .
The entire rear caliper assembly is shown as Yamaha part # 23p-2580w-00 , which includes the part I need , as well as the caliper itself , which I don't need , and sells for about $250.00 USD . I haven't checked with a Yamaha dealer in Canada yet , but it'll probably cost $500.00 CDN for the whole kit .( More cursing here ) .
Any suggestions ?
Alex .
