oh,
forgot to say i had a st1300 pan the indicators are in the mirror pods changed the indicator covers from amber to clear then put switch back leds in, so when you had ignition on the both indicators with clear lenses were white led, but when you put indicator on that side changed to amber led and flashed so head on the one side was white and the ndicator side was amber flashing, soon as you turned indicator off they were both white led,s agian.

mot again no issue

Well I've got the fronts working. I thought I would make sure everything was OK and pluged in the indicators without the inline resistors and they work just fine without, the rears seem to be doing the job of correcting the flasher speed for both ends. Now, all the fun of tidying the wiring and rebuilding the front:oops:.20181110_120218.jpg

I know this has been a while for this thread, but I have just realised that the rear running lights are to also act as extra brake lights. They don't, just on as running lights. I spent half the afternoon checking and re-checking the wiring aginst the instructions, yellow to yellow, blue to blue and replacad some of the connectors, but nothing changed. I'm stumped.

mine have worked for 3 years now perfectly, all i can remember if i,m right is 3 wires each side, 1 has to go to indicator to get the indicator to work. 2nd to the brake light so brake light is activated when rear brake is prest. and 3rd to rear light so the red running light is on.

if you think.
the rear new indicator has 3 wires coming from it so
1 goes to the indicator thats been removed
2 goes to the i think rear light so when the bikes tiurned on the rear light is on as well as new running light
3 goes to the rear brake light

The rears have 4 wires, black, white, yellow and blue. Black and white to the indicator with a resistor, the yellow and blue to the yellow and blue from the bikes loom. The Y & B are connected correctly as per instructions. The red LED's come on with the ignition, but do not get brighter with the brake. It was seeing a Youtube video of them fitted to an MT 09 with them working as brake lights that made me realise something was wrong with mine.

somewhere then you would have to think that one of those 4 wires is not connected to the rear brake

The black and white are for the indicators, but if either the Y or B are not connected, then the red running lights do not work. So everything is wired in. Unless they need to be connected to the Y&B in another part of the loom. I used Yamaha's wiring diagram for the 2010 S10, so it should be OK for a 2011.

This is the wiring diagram for the rears.

Fixed it. I did have everything in the right place , but the connection to the yellow brake light wire had not made proper contact.

I replaced the OEM relay with a CustomLED ELFR-1 solid state flasher unit, and the bulbs with yellow 7443 LED replacements, which are a direct plugin replacement for the original filament bulbs. Super simple.
