It just keeps on coming. I’m ready for some spring. It got to 38 degrees here and it felt like a heat wave.

I don't know how you all in the north handle going so long not riding with all that snow you get. I sometimes get caught out in snow but here in KY we usually don't get very much. We get a lot of ice I definitely try to stay off of! I did get a great gift this past Christmas. Electric gloves! I left work this morning and it showed 7 degrees at the house. 15 miles to work and felt great when I got there. Of course I would not mind nicer weather too!

That 5th in my pic is a toy hauler. April we're heading for Texas and Moto GP, assuming I get the rig dug out by then. Whenever the missus retires, we'll head out most of January February and March. Here are a couple from April last year:

I bet that toy hauler is a handful pulling in the snow! Hey here is a random question for all the cold weather riders. I have always had trouble with my key switches freezing up. the ignition and my gas cap. I have been running duck tape over my key locks for years when the key is not in the lock to keep them from freezing going down the road. today i pulled up to a gas pump and my gas cap lock was frozen again! Just wondering what you all do to keep this from happening? I can't tell you how many times I have gotten to work and then can't turn my key off! Of course here in KY we get warm wet days then really cold. that doesn't help any at all with the keys. I need a heated key!

Yes! Our week of winter has been horrible.....it got down into the 20s. Sorry guys, I was born in Massachusetts, and have lived in several different part of the country.....I don't miss the winters in the North. As much as I bitch about our summers, I'm staying down here. Now, if y'all can lower the cost of living in So Cal.....

Yeah, record snowfall and low temperatures. It's been winter here since early November. There was no fall season. Late October brought 12 days straight of rain and then winter hit. There is about 24-30 inches of snow on the ground covered with ice. Lots of buildings with flat roofs (schools) are having big problems. Usually I can get out a bike for short rides when the roads are clear...not this year, way too much ice. Last weekend there was a 131 car wreck south of Neenah, today there was a 30 car wreck in Green Bay. I don't know why people live here. I hope I remember how to ride a motorcycle when spring gets here.

15 days till spring. Yeah I'm so tired of winter. I bought a new snow blower 4 years ago because of a 15" snow 5 years ago. This is the first year that I have had to use it and very tired of using it.
I really miss my dirt bike days when we would ride in the snow and pull sleds. I told the wife I'm thinking of loading up the lawn mower and heading south to find someone's yard to mow. Her only comment was that I hope that I can speak Spanish.

F--k winter! I put the scooter up late November and at this point we're still probably a few weeks out before the salt gets washed off the roads for good. Jeez, almost 1/3 of the year is unrideable here. The only thing that keeps me going at this point is the "18 month plan" I'm on to pack up and head southwest to live out my years somewhere that I can ride mostly year round.

At that point I haven't been on a ride for 5 mounts:(

I have not seen the pavement for the better part of the last month save for the parts that they use the salt/ sand on. I have the local guy with a Kabota w/ a front mounted blower that does my driveway and even with him blowing most of the snow into the woods I have 50” snowbanks. Even it starts to melt now clear roads most likely won’t be until mid April, I hope!

The more years I acquire in age the less I enjoy the Winter.

Regarding frozen locks, never tried it myself but I have heard several times over the years that a dollop of hand sanitizer put on the shaft of the key and the surface of lock mechanism/door lock/gas cap/ignition works quite well.

IF I was crazy enough to ride in THAT kind of weather, I would get one of the various brands of lock de-icer; throw it in my saddle/tank bag.
