I thought I would be riding to work but I just looked and I should be off new years day. If nothing else comes up I may take off on a goof off ride around the local areas. No planed rides though.

Nope! We went into Lockdown at midnight last night to be reviewed in 3 weeks but the British Government has just said that it could last for months. :(

None for me either. Between my injury, hospitals filled to capacity, and wanting to save others from the spread of this deadly disease, riding is not in my near future.

Depends on who may want to ride with me, I plan to do a ride through the National forest may hit some jeep trails. If I have some street riders show up then I’ll stick to the local twistys. We are not on any kind of lock down and restaurants are operating at full capacity. So maybe a little ride and some Mexican food. That should like the way to kick it off motorcycles and spicy food.

I hate it that there’s so much gloom in the world during this holiday season. Wish all of you well.

Last year at this time I had big plans for 2020. That didn't go the way I expected. Nothing planned at the moment. Will have to see how 2021 unfolds.

I’d be there for the ride if I was doing Christmas with the in-laws. They are in the Idaho falls area

Carrying on with tradition, we will be taking an annual ride on New Years Day. In the past our destination has always been Doc's Tavern in Machias WA. where the local Polar Bears plunge into the Pichuck River. I doubt that there will be many jumpers this year, but we'll make the ride just because we can.polar-011.jpg

Got a pan for a New Year ride to Little Missouri Falls. It will be a 50/50 pavement dirt ride, if anything three will be more dirt than pavement. Wife will be taking her Tenere so it will be a nice casual ride.

I had multiple trips planned in 2020, all ruined by the virus. Not from fear, but the regulations that ruin the entire enjoyment of travel. Can't even go out in the mountains 15 miles from the nearest person without a mask here. I have had it with the masks. 2021 a no go for sure for anything. I'm hoping 2030, but won't even say that is probably a hope that will come true. Fact is this crap is here, and here it will be for a long, long time. Masks are here most likely for at least 100yrs. I won't go if I have to wear one, or even see or hear of one person that has one. I didn't like Halloween masks even in 1968, hate them more now X1000

I’m nota mask fan either, but I don’t let it keep me off my bike or traveling. I do get your view point though, I have friends that plan trips based on helmet laws. They will go out of their way just to bypass a helmet law state. They’re missing out on a lot but it’s their convictions. I don’t believe in helmet laws either, I wear a helmet cause I want to no because I have to. This will get me in trouble in here but some of my friends and I rode NM and stayed in a motel, technically that was illegal and all that buzz, had a blast though. We did do the mask thing walking to a table in the restaurants though. That 2-3 minutes wasn’t bad.

For what it's worth. . . . just saw a commercial for Oklahoma. The Governor was saying that they're open for business. Pretty ballsy. Of course the west side of OK is pretty flat, and ugly. The east side though is much different. Broken Bow OK has cabin rentals in the woods that are fantastic. Plenty of beautiful roads. I'm sure Johnwesley can confirm that.

I too hate masks. . . . but, I have no issue wearing one in public. Like Cycledude said, if that's your biggest concern. . . . you're doin' ok.

Helmets? To me. . . . it's inconceivable to even think about riding without one. I have plenty of good friends that don't; their choice. I've seen way too many crashes where the rider would have survived if a helmet had been worn. My oldest son would not be here with out one. No, they're not a guarantee, but they're a start. But, even without a crash, I don't want to contend with June Bugs, grasshoppers, rocks, and such.

I'm also a believer in seatbelts. When I started driving, they weren't mandatory. I wore them because I learned that I could go around corners much faster when I wasn't sliding across those big ass bench seats. It became habit, so when the laws were passed. . . . I didn't even notice. Once again, they're not a guarantee in crash, but the car can't protect you if you're not inside of it. I've seen crashes where the car has very little damage, but, the occupants were thrown out. One in particular, the driver was nowhere to be found. . . . until the car was put on the wrecker. He had been crushed under it.

But, if any of y'all are cruising through Texas. . . . I'm only 10 minutes south of I-20, and 15 minutes west of I-35W, so give me a hollar. Breakfast, lunch or dinner is on me. :)

Is that the cleburne area, I may just take you up on that. I end up around there a couple of times a year. I’ve used AMS for some of my machine work. They are in the area as well.
