And now, for something totally different.

It STARTS at $29,799, tops out at 95mph with a 75bhp electric motor, 3.0-3.5 0-60mph, and has a 110mi range. o_O My guess is the limited top speed is to extend the range. In MY opinion, this is an urban bike only; hard to go across country, 100mi at a time. And, IF it is only an urban bike....I'm going with the Zero motorcycle due to the price alone. Also, and again just my opinion, if a person wants a Harley-Davidson, THIS is not what they're dreaming about. H-D has marketed a certain image. From the seating position to the sound....or lack there of....this is about as far from that image as possible; or is that the goal? To each their own, I'm sticking with my Tenere.

Scuttlebutt is that there are already tons of unsold inventory (or waiting list spots may be a better way to put it) I don't know their pricing structure for dealers, if they are allowed to place "premiums" on getting the first batch. That could have some impact if the dealers can tag on a bullshit $5000 fee like car dealers do. If Harley does not allow that, the project is in serious trouble.

Year two and year five sales are what is going to matter.

My instant reaction was city bike only but like @bnschroder said, low milage on HD is a typical thing. Not specifically this bike, but if they came out with a "bagger" version this would be a great bike to toss on the back of the RV for that retirement couple that is going park to park with 50 amp service anyway so recharging will not be an issue at all.

Watching some college football on TV over the weekend, I saw a few HD Live Wire ads. I didn't time them but thought they were unusually short. Almost like Harley is ashamed of the bike or their budget is now too upside down for good marketing. I'm not opposed to electric but feel like the tech is still progressing.

Did they finish in time? Nothing on Instragram, and I wouldn't touch Facebook with your mouse. (I live in yesterday's world - but OMG, the sound of the CBX. )

Wow I want to see that 6 figure check HD wrote for that to happen.
Now....when they used the GS....it was because KTM backed out. Who....or who all....have backed out, that they were reduced to using electric HDs? o_O 'Cuz, the Livewire doesn't look too "off-road" worthy. I can't see them doing very well on/in anything but pavement.

Apparently not getting off to a good start at all:

Only 40 of the 150 nationwide dealers made orders for it. Holy cow, that is devastating news. Less then 1/3 of their dealer network thinks they can even sell one.....

Just reading that linked article, they have changed from their "200 mile" rage to I see now they are saying 95 miles range. Could you imagine riding lets just say 75 miles parking for 4 hours.... riding 75 miles parking for 4 hours..... on a 10.000 mile trip? No thanks.

I suspect they didn't make it. I'm old school too, no FB or Instagram, etc. But I couldn't find anything saying they made it, and you would expect to see big shouting if they did.

Probably able to get 80% charge in 20 minutes or so. Still, hard to imagine the routine.

I'm tellin' ya'. When a person dreams/imagines owning an H-D....the H-D sound and feel are what consumes them; not where the nearest plug-in is. H-D and Indian are the two brands that should probably just stick with internal combustion.

FYI Bike World got to ride one for 6 hours.

On the charging, 45 mins to 80% charge. 1:20 to full. If using a super charger like Tesla. No data on home charging at 20 amps.
Reviewer says it spanks the Zero on handling.
