Alt Rider Luggage Rack Mod

The Alt Rider web site shows two positions available for the rear rack. One is the elevated position. The other is with the riser removed, which gives you essentially one large platform as it merges with the front rack (where the passenger seat used to be). The problem is, the rear rack will hit the factory luggage mount in the lower position. The fix is to remove a bit of the rack on each side. In case anyone else ran into this issue, here are the photos. Easy mod.

Of course the grab rails need to be removed as well in order to utilize the lower position for the rear rack.

You should also file that spike into a radius so it does not catch or impale you when you are riding with out panniers.

Yes. Rounded down the edges and will touch up with black paint.
