Sorry for another exhaust thread.

This video sold me on the akra. Unfortunately most videos on youtube are terrible for getting an idea of the exhaust note. I've also heard some nice sounds coming from the remus and arrow. Anyone heard both in person? Youtube can only do so much, even when done properly like this one:

I want the deep throaty sound without the rasp. I do not like the sound on the Yoshi or two brothers. Haven't seen a good video of the delkevic.

I literally just put the 14" Delkevic on my bike 30min ago and I am very impressed for a $200 pipe fit, finish and sound. I have yet to ride it I will tomorrow with my usual 82 mile commute. The videos I found on the Delkevic do not do it justice, you have to put the bolt back in the exhaust with the include extra nut in the box after removing the baffle or else you will have kinda of a whistle or raspy sound. I will update tomorrow how it sounds under load and a freeway speeds. I might try and post a video but all I have is an iPhone and I don't know how well it will record the sound.

I rode to work this morning and the exhaust sounds awesome. it is a little raw I guess is the term I would use (get some backfire on deceleration) its not super loud but loud enough any louder and I think it would be to much, sounds a lot like a V twin cruiser to me. Now this is without the baffle installed. at freeway speeds cruising (not accelerating) between 65-75 I can still hear my music from my Sena just fine once you get over 75 it does get a little louder but I really couldn't hear my music very well at those speeds anyway with road and wind noise. I have the Michelin Anakee 3's on my bike and they are louder than the exhaust at certain speeds without being "on" the gas if your just maintaining speed, if that comparison helps. I am satisfied with my $200 Delkevic exhaust. I have not ridden it with the baffle but I think if I was to do a really long trip and not just commuting I would either use the baffle or just put the stock pipe on, it only took me like 20-25 min to install the pipe.

Defekticon, that is one the best videos I've "heard" for getting a true idea of exhaust sound. The GoPro he used is leaps and bounds better than any cell phone recording. Concern with the Remus would be the angle of the exhaust, it's not turned down much and could melt your rear turn signals and fender.

If not video, a good pic would be appreciated to see the shape of the canister and where it exits compared to the turn signal and fender.

As requested. I might post a video depends on sound quality. I do work 10-12 hour days and have 82 miles to commute so video might not happen till the weekend.

I've been interested in a Delkevic but have been concerned with where the exhaust tip would end up in relation to the turn signal and fender.

Pics from their website didn't help much, since the 2 different pipes I was looking at (17" and 18") look to have been worked over with photoshop. So, without seeing actual install pics, I've held off.

18" canister

17" canister

Those pictures are fake as a playboy centerfold. You would think they would want a real picture to show fit. I like quiet. I don't care for any exhaust note. Why do guys want to hear themselves riding? No one else wants to hear your bike, so it falls into the catagory of hearing yourself. Why?

The Akrapovic is just as quiet as the stock exhaust with additional power, it's also significantly lighter. That's why it's pricey, and also why I'm interested in it.

If it's really that quiet, I'd be into it, too. It seems louder in videos.

If you want such a quiet bike you should probably be riding a Zero and driving a Prius :))

I don't like obnoxious, but I like to hear my vehicles run. Plus it covers up some of that annoying engine noise :D

I got a new truck a couple weeks ago, one of the first mods was to yoink the stock muffler and replace it with something that makes it sound like a truck. From a block away, nobody would know the truck wasn't stock, or the bike with the Delkevic unless deep into the throttle.
