It will work, did you get the twin or four dial version?

I got the four dial version. Didn't know they had one for twins separately.
Btw, would I need to make the hose for the left side, as explained in this thread? *thats going to be a pain ::015:: *

Hi Guys, just a short summary of my findings. I have a 2014 XT1200Z with 20000Km and have been having this stumble since bought the bike new.
Also when under hard acceleration sounds like a bucket full of bolts. This made me back down the throttle many times. I found the right TB screw almost fully home. The left TB screw slightly turned out 180 deg.
I made sharpie marks and set both TB screws at 270 deg. Using Homemade manometer did the rest. Now runs like the 1200 is supposed to.
My only conclusion is that she was running way too lean and pre-ignition was the sounds i was hearing and of course the dreaded STALLING at worse possible moments. ::26::

Carbmate is now is NYC area for the experimenting mind types ::022::

Hey guys, any adjustments done at higher rpm range, say 3500-4000 or idle only? I just got carbmate, will be doing TB sync. Ever since my st received new engine with new TB in 2015 under warranty, idle could have been better and she's been stumbling while idling. few times she just plain quit and had to be restarted. ECU has been re-flashed by An a while ago. Also, as I understand vacuum hoses need to be the same length for this to measure properly from nipple to device. is that correct?

I played with trying to adjust the sync as different speeds.
I found that small changes make a big difference at idle, and it takes a big change to affect cruise sync.
So, if I synced at cruise, the idle sync was way off.
It's just an air bleed adjustment, and doesn't actually adjust the relative positions of the throttle valves, so the effect is diminished at higher speeds.

3/4 from full closed, then match the 2nd side to it.

You only do the sync at idle, as mentioned.

Not many things are night and day difference on the Tenere than poorly synced to perfectly synced throttle bodies.

Reminds me of the old days with points and carbs and you got a real tune-up.

We're so spoiled these days.

Torturing her is truly one of the delights of my life!

My grandchildren, her kids, play baseball and softball. My small town is one of those where the ball parks are the center of community activity.
She'll text me the game times.

I'll jump on the KTM 500 and strap a light chair across my shoulder. Then approach the ball field from across a huge open field in the back, instead of the road out front.
In full show-off view of the world I'll ride wheelies through all the gears and then stop and lean the bike against the fence near the dugout.

The kids love it!
My daughter is humiliated at the juvenile behavior of her dad in front her peers.
Oh, how I just LOVE to get her riled.

Long haired hippy old man. Then I put my beat up cowboy hat on and sit right next to her.
Takes a couple of innings before she'll acknowledge my existence.

Her husband, my son in law, is the coach. He has to hide his grin. Lol

Snakebitten, you're the main reason I log into this site. You rock the house. I love your posts more every day.

You ARE wearing a helmet when you do your wheelies, right? You have to set a good example for the kids!!

Just a question to those of you with a lotta miles on your ST's.....does the sync need checking regularly or do you find it a "set it and forget it" adjustment?

Have owned a 2012 (52,200) and currently own a 2015 ES (23,000) and find I need to check the TB Sync more often than I would have guessed. If there is a 'catch' while applying throttle it needs a TB Sync.

I would apologize for derailing this thread, but it would be disingenuous since I have done it SO many times that nobody would believe me.

So first...........
I don't know how often you should sync your throttle bodies. But more than once a new sync resulted in an unexpected substantial improvement.
Drives me nuts that I didn't sense the gradual degradation.

Blitz, such a nice thing to say. It's all down hill from now though. Too much pressure. :)

Yes, I wear a helmet. In fact, I dress to crash! ATGATT.

Since you enjoyed.........so, My youngest son is a country sheriff deputy. My daughter has pleaded with her little brother to "do something about it James. Give him a ticket or something. That has to be against some law"

I look at her. Then look up at him. (He's a BIG Boy) He hesitates and asks "dad, that thing does have a license plate right?"
I nod with the biggest grin and say "yep! and I have insurance on it too officer. wanna see it?"

Ain't life grand?

Life IS grand, and you make it better with every post. It's good to have THE MAN (and your son) on your side.

You've raised a fine family, AND inspired me to double check my carb synch. I bought a new motion pro tool for my daughter's 1982 suzuki GS650 ($200 craigslist find) a few months back, so i'll use it on the super 10 this weekend.

Thanks for brightening my day.

A bit of help please.
I did the air screw adjustment and throttle sync last week and was over the moon with the results.
I set out on a 450mile up to the Scottish borders three days since and it was running perfectly, however over the three days it has started to stutter again and has deteriorated to the point where it now stalls at junctions.
Any ideas, can someone point me in the right direction?
