S-10 waiting Owners - Regarding aftermarket slip-on exhusts: Don't be in a hurry to pick anything up.

There are tons of great looking and sounding exhausts out there that can be used to replace your stock can for under $400. They will require cutting the pipe where it attaches to your stock can and a slight modification to the stock can mount, but it will be a 1/2 day project that will be cheap. Just look at some of the ebay deals on cans for various large-displacement bikes. (For example it appears R1200GS models would fit easily.)

Not only that possibility, but some of the larger exhaust companies will be listing compatibilities as soon as the bikes start getting delivered in the US!

You can do all the alterations as you have mention, but you will still be running a small link pipe.
You will need to have the pipe expanded alot to fit.
Another thing to consider is that you are cutting up a $1000 plus muffler that now can no-longer be put back on you bike.
Persomally wouldn't be cutting up the stock.
you also mentioned 1/2 a days work ($400 for muffler plus 1/2 days work already over $600) sound cheap.
As far as bigger companies go, are you saying bigger is better, we sell over 10,000 plus exhaust world wide a year from one of our companies alone & I deal with 3 major companies.(Not big enough)??
Regards,
Chappy.
