What aftermarket windshield gives the best wind protection for someone who is six feet tall? I do mostly road riding. I have a Honda Africa Twin with a MadStad windshield but I seem to get a lot of turbulent air underneath .... so I am not pleased with it. Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Assuming this is for a S10, I had good luck with the following combination. I'm right about 6 feet, too.
1) Parabellum medium windscreen (the Parabellum tall screen was too tall from a visibility and adjustment perspective)
2) Madstadt adjustable bracket (I also added the braces, but they didn't affect buffeting)
3) Yamaha wind deflectors - they had a minor effect
4) Mirror extenders

Of these, I'd put the windscreen and mirror extenders as the two most significant pieces to reduce buffeting. I'd go with the Madstadt bracket, simply for the adjustability it offers, regardless.

Good luck,

Tim -
It makes a difference to know what year bike you have. Gen 1 vs Gen2 are different.

Been happy with the (National Cycle) VStream on the Tenere. Also used VStream on a couple of FJR's w/ good results. 6' tall, 32-33 " inseam, long upper torso for reference.

I am 6 foot tall with a 32 inch inseam for size reference. I have the Puig Touring screen and it is awesome.

I previously had the Cal-Sci medium screen and did not like it.

Stock Yamaha works fine for me. Being a goldwing rider, even with that big of screen, you are still on a motorcycle, so going to be hard to be noise and turbulence free.

Google "touratech windshield spoiler".

I have this installed and it is pretty cheap at Aliexpress.com. I can ride with my visor at open at 120 kph. Quiet too, and can hear the akrapovic's music at highway speeds.

Kinda what I was thinking. I ride with my stock screen in the lowest position year round. Of course we don't really have winters. In the summer I don't want/need wind protection; more air flow is always wanted/needed. ::001::

I have a Madstad bracket with a 24" Parabellum. No wind buffeting. The Madstad came off my 2012 and fit my 2016. The windshield had to be a gen1 to fit the bracket. I'm sure the gen2 setup would create the same results. I run the windshield so I can see over it on the street and lower it all the way for dirt. It's a lot sturdier than stock I don't use my bike for commuting...no place to commute to. I am 6' and 32 inseam.

he is riding an Africa twin by Honda.... a nice bike I test road this past week , still like my s10 better. as for buffeting he will have to experiment as this is a Yamaha forum so not a lot of info on what makes the Honda better... just saying.

I have removed the screen bracketery on my 2nd Gen to be able to fit a GiviAirflow. This along with Yamaha wind deflectors mean I can ride for hours a UK motorway speeds (70MPH) or faster in Europe with no buffeting and my visor up.

I'm 6ft

Anybody have an exploded view of the parts that make up the OEM Gen 2 windscreen bracket? Or know where i can see one?
I bastardized mine to put a V-Stream shield on. I wasn't real careful with the parts and just threw them in a bag thinking i wouldn't need them again.
I wanted to keep the accessory bar for my GPS/Phone.

Now i think i want to go back to original OEM screen as the V-Stream is huge, and i get almost no wind so i get hot!

Thanks "J"

I'm 6'5" and the stock windshield wasn't tall enough for me. I first bought a Puig and, with the bracket all the way up, I did see some improvement. I have since gone to the Madstad bracket and their 24" SD shield. I don't have to adjust it all the way up anymore and I'm in smooth air. I get very little water on my faceshield when riding in the rain. I had some visual distortion looking through the Puig so that's another advantage of the Madstad shield.

I have had the Madstad before on two different Triumh Explores. I had tried about everything and the Madstad was the winner for me. I rode with the 20” shield from Madstad with it all the way down and the top was pitched toward me. Clean air. Wife (toughest to make happy) said the wind is a non issue now. I just bought a 17 S10 and I am about to order the Madstad system (less the support). Good luck on figuring this out. Noise is a very personal thing and what works for one person may not work for the other.

Lots of choices and lots of different prices, after 30,000 miles I finally bought the biggest VStream made and couldn’t be happier !
Used to have to clean bugs off my faceshield at every gas stop, the VStream put an end to that, it’s also much quieter than the tall Yamaha shield I used to use, I still look over the top, the rain and cold protection is also much better.
