Added Green LED strips from eBay to the side of my 2015 Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 instrument cluster as my GPS was blocking the standard turn indicator lights. GPS too high then I cannot lower the screen as it hits the Touratech cage. Lower the GPS and cannot see the turn indicator at top of cluster.
The LED strips are too bright for direct viewing, but side mounting the reflections are perfect easily seen in daylight and not blinding at night.
They asos fit nicely at the side of the cluster making for a clean finish.

The LED Strips were soldered to the connector end of the LED turn signals.
You need to take the headlight out then pull the turn signal wiring forward.
Unwrap the cables to lay the LED cable.
Tape up the remaining length of cable from the LED Strip.
I used good quality Nito electrical tape.

Enjoy

RHS does have 4 LED's, just cannot see it in video

Another option is to get the GPS bracket extender. I really like your idea better though. Much brighter than the stock ones. The biggest reason I got the extender was so I could read my speedo without having to tilt up the GPS. The GPS is now right in my line of site to the road ahead. No no head tilt to read it. Just split second glances.

LEDs look good, but in my case I would prefer a relay, of those that sound: TAC-tac .... TAC-tac .... TAC-tac .... there are others that sound different, something like: PI . PI .. PI :):):)

I also have the extender. But I cannot lower the screen when the gps is in the high position. I see mine mid which about 10mm lower than stock position.
You can see the extender just poking out at bottom.

The god does hide the cluster when standing but if I need speedo then i can switch gos view.
