BTW...this not the best sub-forum to get the word out. I stumbled upon this here. Try the for sale forum.
Yes, I'm sure I can do a better job of getting the word out. Just waiting to make sure everyone loves the first batch before ordering a bunch more. FWIW I have found a powdercoater as well for the next batch.

Yes, they are NOT painted and do not include mounting hardware (2) 1/4-20 button head cap screws, but do include the rubber grommets.

Just send cash or check for $20 for 2 brackets shipped in the US to:

If you want to keep it metric, M6-1.00 x 20mm also work. Actually my 20mm long bolts stick out a bit, I'm going to try some 16mm.

To All: what would be a good paint to use on the brackets?

FITTING WITH OEM WINGLETS...
First off, these are nice and look like they'll be effective.

I have the winglets and these are mounted with rubber expansion nuts and a 5mm screw. The issue with the braces is the holes are larger than 5mm. The expansion nut fits good in the hole but, I think it is to short to get everything mounted up. My solution is most likely temporary so, I'll spare the details. I recommend trying to find longer expansion nuts that will go thru the braces and bike fairing. Or...BETTER YET :) drill smaller holes in the braces. Maybe propsoto could think about this. To make it standard, a pilot hole could be made and the end user drill to their needs.

BTW powder coating is best and I read this may happen on these.

Installed the Anti Vibration Brackets for the Accessory Bar.

- replaced the provided rubber grommets with ones that have a 6 mm hole.
- Bolts (hex head) (4) 6 mm x 20 mm (SS).
- Nylock nuts 6 mm (SS).
- Washers Flat (8) 6 mm (SS).
- From the Outside: Bolt - Washer - OEM Wind Deflector - Grommet - Washer - Nylock nut.
- After the install the Bolt is flush with the Nut.

I would have preferred that the Holes on the Brackets were 6 mm but... it looks like it will work very well. I have not ridden with the new brackets. That is tomorrow.

The OEM Wind Deflectors are mounted stiffer with this setup. The windshield seems to be mounted very tight.

Now the problem is finding primer for Aluminum. Been to Home Depot and a local hardware store... zero. After I find the primer and get some paint I will remove the brackets for painting.

Finally fully tested the Anti-vibration Brackets. I had a SPOT attached for the last 1,000 miles including a rough 20 mile section that I have ridden many times. The faster you ride it the rougher it is. I did not watch the SPOT or Windshield all the time but they did not move much when I did watch. I am impressed with Tom's design.

... stops the accessories and windshield from vibrating uncontrolled.
... before I said I would like the lower mounting holes to be 6 mm. After inspecting the bracket (post rough road), it has not moved. Proper mounting hardware seems to be the answer. I changed the Grommet to a thinner grommet with a 6mm hole. Used one 6 mm x 20 mm SS hex head bolt, two 6 mm SS washers, one 6 mm SS Nyloc nut. Installed and tightened the bolt is flush with the nut.

Tom you did GOOD. Thanks.

Ps - still haven't found a can of Aluminum Primer.

I installed my brackets yesterday. I used M8x20 stainless bolts and they fill the holes nicely. M6 hardware is too small IMO.

The brackets do help with the vibration and flexing in the wind but they do not totally solve it.

Also, the indexing tabs that are on the windshield height positioning clamps do not engage in their holes on the adjustment slider. The brackets fill up the space in the slot and do not allow the tabs to engage anymore. I am not sure if I like that or not. It doesn't seem to cause a problem but I am just not sure yet.

I have the Cal-Sci Medium windshield so that may be exacerbating the problem with vibration.

Got my brackets!!!!!

They work awesome!

We had the windshield screws , and well-nets, in stock!

I had an inkling they would work.

They did!!

I installed the well nuts through the brackets and then into the winglet accessory holes.

I'm not running the winglets.

They hold the brackets good and firm, and the rubber wellnuts do give just a tad for dampening vibration.

Did a little trial putt with the Tom-Tom mounted, and voilà, the screen was clear and steady!

Thanks!!!

FWIW all I did was clean the brackets with alcohol, and spray with Rust-oleum 2X Ultra Cover Paint+Primer (Home Depot, I think) Satin Black, if I did it again I'd use flat black.

A couple of you have asked questions or commented on how to mount the brackets. I took some pics to help clarify a couple options.

My original plan was to use the rubber compression nuts thru the bracket, then the winglet hole (This is why the holes are large). This required a washer on the outside and only allowed for a #10 screw. There is nothing wrong with this option, but when I was buying hardware (at my True Value Hardware) I saw the grommets and decided to use them with 1/4" bolts. This also allowed for some misalignment and a larger bolt.

I really think the rubber mounting is important. You all know how much the bar vibrates, my fear is that something MUCH more expensive could break if the accessory bar was secured more rigid. There still is some movement (side to side on mine) but it is acceptable. I can now read my radar detector and GPS, which is what I was after.

I do not have the winglets nor have I ever seen them, so I was guessing at best if my brackets would work with them. But it did seem logical that with a little effort, they could be made to work together. It sounds like it wasn't too much of an inconvenience.

Now I'm hoping someone comes up with a an elegant way to keep the power plug from vibrating out. At 90MPH ish mine vibrates out and I lose my radar detector (when I need it most)

I haven't mounted anything to my accessory bar, but just looking at it, it doesn't seem to be vibrating much. Does mounting things there increase the vibration? I'm also wondering if the tire you happen to be running affects the frequency and amplitude of the vibrations. Seems like it would. I have some semi-shagged BattleWings on my Tenere now, so perhaps that is why I am not getting as much vibration as those with more aggressive tires.
