Has anyone ever had their front brake lever almost impossible to be able to pull in? My back brakes still works fine. I flushed my brake fluid and cycle the ABS system every year. This problem is not all the time.

I suggest trying the search function. There is quite a bit on the Gen 1's and it is likely some one has run into this previously

Can you bleed the front system normally? If not, check for a collapsed / pinched brake line.

Good luck!

My rear brake pedal locked up. I had to bypass the abs module hydraulics. Brakes work 'normally' now, no linked, no abs.

I think the only way that the brake lever is "impossible to pull"... would be that: either the lever is getting stuck in its pivot axis, or the front master cylinder is getting stuck in its initial (or rest) position... or the piston of the abs body (of the front circuit), has remained in the "out" position, blocking the flow of liquid towards the front pads, so the circuit would be "interrupted" between the abs and the master cylinder,…..

did you report it? I ask as there are a number of ABS issues out there. The NTSB can represent us to Yamaha NA to get a replacement unit

Harley has had this issue for a few years where the brake lever or pedal could not be moved. The only fix is to bypass the abs or replace the module. On my harley and S10 after each ride before I park I intentionally activate the front and rear abs, on grass, to keep the internal parts working freely . I also flush fluid on a yearly basis.
