I talked to the guy at booster about my 2000 rpm surge. He said if richening my PCV at 2000 rpm doesn't help. A booster plug won't do me any good. Honest guy.

I went from a Arrow slip on to an Arrow full exhaust along with the flash. It absolutely rips. I wish I’d done this sooner. The S mode pulls so much harder down low. After all these years I am having to adjust to less engine breaking. I have revived my love affair with the ole girl after 7+ years.

Communication was excellent. Turn around was super fast. Great vendor. Thanks a million.

I wish I had a decent place in south Florida to do the flashing :(

Its seems that I would need to hit the road :)

I was less than thrilled with the Flash Tune mapping done by a local shop here (Jett Tuning) Installing the Delkevic exhaust can seemed to make it worse. I bit the bullet and sent my ECU to Anthony, had a nice call with him last night to make sure I get exactly what I want, super nice guy by the way, and USPS tracking says it's on its way back to me for Saturday delivery. Can't wait to try it out! Biggest complaint about the Flash Tune software is that it didn't really address the abrupt off, back on again, throttle transition. I did like the 205F fan on and 195F fan off settings in the Flash Tune code, so asked Anthony to keep that the same.

2Wheel DynoWorks. On sale right now for $265. Next to buying my Tenere, hands down the best money I have spent. Once you ride it, you will find it to be an incredible bargain.

I rode in, and left in 45 minutes. If you mail in, it gets sent back the same day they receive it.

DO IT!

Their Facebook page says that they are both very sick and have closed the business temporarily.

Well shoot, wouldn’t you know it, the post person shows up hours earlier than I’ve ever seen while we were at the grandsons’s baseball game. Nobody home to sign for it. Now I can’t get my ECU ‘till Monday!

Finally able to retrieve my ECU from the post office. I plugged it in, buttoned everything back up, switched on the key and pressed the start button - vrroooom. Always good to hear the engine fire after fiddling with it. Too late to do a road test and we’re expecting rain the next two days. Hope to get a test ride in Thursday maybe.

Please post up the results Jeff. I have been afraid to do mine because my Super Tenere runs perfect in stock form.

Let me butcher the English language for you Chris. It will run MORE perfect. Anthony has done 2 different bikes for me and it is an excellent tune.

As for as the O2 sensors you retain them in Anthony's tune but some can tune to remove them. Why? I have no idea.

Will do, unfortunately rain predicted for today, tomorrow and Thursday, then Friday we're leaving town for the weekend so not sure when I'll get a chance. If we get a clearing in the weather I'll sneak out for a quick one and report back.

Agreed, I'm hoping for even "more perfecter" running. I certainly did not consider the OEM set up as perfect by any means. Sport mode was impossible to use smoothly in stop and go traffic and slow 1st & 2nd gear technical stuff. I think the canned Flash Tune program I had in there was better than stock but not quite there, especially regarding throttle on, off then on again - still very jerky. It seems like adding the Delkevic can made it worse. I had the tune for the stock bike in there, so that may have been part of the issue. The Flash Tune made Touring mode a bit more lively and useful. For in-town and technical twisties I was forced to switch to touring but the throttle take up is still a bit lazy for my tastes, but at least I could ride more smoothly.

I don't think Anthony messes with the fueling that much, according to my conversation with him, the Super Tenere is fueled very well as is. The problem is the throttle map and I think probably the fuel cut behavior. He told me the bike actually runs a little rich at speed. Given that, the O2 sensors aren't going to freak out like they might if you made a large change to the fuel mixture. The O2 sensors will try to defeat any significant fueling changes so folks installing a power commander and changing the fueling a lot will need to disconnect the O2 sensors. One would also need to plug in some emulators to prevent the malfunction codes being set.

It's very difficult for me to get my head wrapped around my bike running any more better than it is. I can ride it down to walking pace without any bobbles in the fueling. In sport mode the engine braking is phenomenal. There are no flat spots anywhere in the RPM range in any gear. I don't get any jerky feeling in sport mode. The on off throttle in sport mode has a lot of bark yet super smooth.

Of course I am curious to see a good review and I'm always willing to make the fueling better if possible.

This is the conflicting information I've been trying to get my head around, that any remap that leaves the o2 sensors connected would basically defeat itself within a few miles. Just for info, the Power Commander Fuel Controller connects into the lambda terminals and the fuel injector connectors to work its magic. Not sure if the regular PCV does the same but it would seem that the PCFC hijacks those input and output signals to do its thing.

Both pcfc and pcv include some sort of lambda voltage shift to richen up closed loop from 14.5:1 afr to around 13.5:1, and the capability to lean out the standard over-rich fuelling in open loop. The pcv also allows timing adjustment, but this is the limit of changes that can be made with these piggy back devices. I’m not sure how Euro4 bikes respond to lambda shift devices - the ecus are getting fiendishly clever at spotting what it sees as errors and faults in o2 sensors.

However the Denso ecu on the ST is easily remapped, which allows far more adjustment and removal of fault codes. For example, the ST has a very aggressive rbw throttle map in Sport mode which (along with the lean closed loop fuelling) makes it very sensitive at small throttle openings. Both of these can be addressed by remapping, along with the throttle decelleration cut (engine braking) and fan temperatures.

You’ll get the best outcome with a custom ecu remap on a dyno from someone like Chris at CJS Racing near Bristol, or Gary at Mototuning in Dublin (and there are other tuners on the UK who will also dyno tune the XT). It’s cheaper to get a dyno-developed generic map which is written into your ecu (I’ve got one of Gary’s maps on my Euro 4 XT).

I’ve had the o2 sensors disabled in the ecu so the bike runs in open loop only. To my mind, narrow band o2 on/off sensors are just for legal emissions reasons and spoil the low speed running and throttle response of a motorcycle. Once wide band o2 sensors are used by bike manufacturers (like on the latest BMW R1250 range), this will allow closed loop fuelling to be properly controlled as they have done in cars for years.
