This is all they left , they said if we weren't camped here that all this would be cleaned up by scavengers overnight.

We ask them were the best riding was and boy did they ever let us in on a great place to explore.
It's called Roger Pryor Pioneer Forest, 153,000 acres of private forest open to the public. Miles and Miles of good stuff!!!

We rode up to Bixby for a burger, This is the big place for bikers to gather, We only seen one other biker on the whole trip, a guy on a Sporster in a town on the way down.

Then it was time to look for a camp again.

Just out in the forest tonight.

Then up and head for home .
Last picture is on Route 66

Thanks for reading. Steve

PS: The only picture I did not take that I regret missing was on the way down on a remote black top road we went pass some road kill and about 50 feet was a huge bird sitting in the road. When we went past he just sat there so I told Matt he must be hurt. I turned around, went back and walked up to him. When I knelt down by him I asked him if I could pick him up. He just cocked his head side ways like he didn't understand me, but I went ahead and picked him up and held him. He didn't have a wrinkled feather on him, but he had a broken right leg. He was a big red tailed hawk. He acted like he enjoyed me holding him. He was probably glad to get out of the middle of the road. I wish I could have helped him but I had to just take him across the ditch and make a nice place for him to lay down in the grass. Such a majestic bird.

Some of you have probably heard of the Lost Creek Road in Missouri.
I made it down there yesterday.
I is a very fun road, I might have spent about an hour on it ,stopping a few times.
I never seen one other sign of anyone except a set of truck tracks sense the last rain.
Some of it is more like ridding an ATV trail than a road.

The creek was a little dry
But there is lots of gravel

You ride right down the creek bed a lot.

Here you can see where the road exits the creek and goes back in the woods.

I need to go back and try some of the side roads off of Lost Creek ,it looks like a lot to explore.

You're running full pannier-top box mode. Camping? 2-up?

Looks like a cool trail.

Some of that gravel looks pretty thick. Can be challenging sometimes. Even more so when you add water. Have to admit that's the kind of stuff I start thinking about when I'm alone on the Tenere. It's also the reason I got the Spot Tracker... ;D

Sorry to hear about your Aunt.

I know quite a few of you guys on here have WR250R’s and other dual sport bikes so I’ll put up this little ride report of our Dual Sport ride over the weekend.
We wanted to ride down to Chadwick, Mo. for some good off road riding, but the 400 miles and cold weather made us haul our bikes down to Jefferson City and unload there to start the ride.
It was still 26f when we unloaded Thursday morning at 9:30 . We also camped every night and cooked all our own food fire side.

The first day we rode 300 miles of back roads to get to Chadwick. With lots of good exploring.

Got stuck here.

Found a great cave to explore.

The three of us was Eric,[my son] Joey, [my son in law] and myself [Steve]

We made it to Chadwick and set up camp way back in the sticks.

The off road riding is really good at Chadwick.

Then on the way back to the truck we done a lot more exploring of back roads.

Then one more good back woods camp before the truck ride home.

Thanks for reading.

Nice. Looks like you are going the right direction on that one. Could be a bit slow going the other direction. No doubt the bike would do it, just more fun going down something like that. Although the right side looks to have a pretty good line showing in the picture.

You have the second set of WR weekend photos I've seen. Trikepilot sent me some from his ride. He had a couple that were a bit unnerving to me. I hope he posts them out here.

With winter coming on strong I had to get in one last ride while I could.
I headed down to the Buffalo River area and Southern Missouri for four days of good riding.
I did find out that if you like meeting other riders that winter is not the time to do it.
There is no one out there and the only person I really got to talk to was an older lady in a pickup truck.
No one in the campgrounds either.

Lots of forest roads and trails to ride.

Some can get a little tricky riding solo.

Some are just plain beautiful!

I did come up to one river crossing that I just would not try and then I came up to this river and just had to go for it.

Before

After

Lots of nice scenery also.

I rode through the Lead Mine area of Missouri.

This must be one of the mines but there was no access to it.

This bike never stops amazing me, a 1374 mile winter ride with the aluminum boxes on and when I pull into the drive the trip average says 49.2

Looks like you guys found Dairy Queen Hill! We rode enduros there years ago and that hill was BAD! Even more so when wet and they always ran you up over those ledge rocks!!

There is no Dairy Queen hill anymore.
All that is closed off last time we were there.
The last time I went up it I couldn't even find the original trail. The ATVs had made the trail 100s of feet wide.

It looks like it's been a while since I have added to this report.
Thursday morning Corbin and I hit the road for a 5 day ride through Missouri and some of Arkansas.
timebak [new guy on here] was going to ride down Friday and find us.
So Thursday morning we got things started off on the right track by finding a good creek crossing soon as we crossed into Missouri.

We worked our way down to Lost Creek RD. but not much water in the creek.

We ended up at a nice place to camp just out in the Mark Twain Nat. Forest.

The next day we rode into the Roger Pryor privet property that is open for recreation. [He has since past away so I hope it stays open]
Great trails.

We ran into a group of riders and rode with them for some time.

That evening we found a free camp out in the forest. It was nice!

We waited for Tim to show up and he arrived around 9:00 PM.

The next morning when I packed up I explored some more forest trails while they were packing up.
When I got back to camp and they got ready I took this picture of Tim.
This is the only picture I got of Tim on this ride.

As you can see he had to much stuff to ride the trails, so he was going to ditch most of it back in Licking, Mo.
We took of for Licking [about 10 miles away]
And I took a wrong turn ,[Hey it's me] they never seen me and when I was back on the right road I just figured they went to Licking.
Well I didn't see them so I sat at the highway waiting for 10 min. then rode back to the camp in case they didn't go past me.
With no one there I rode back to Licking and would be by myself for the rest of this trip. [no phone here]
I still had a great ride.
