I know that is the recommended speed limit, and 22 LBS is the weight limit... Buuuuuut, what's the fastest anyone has gone with them loaded up?

Hmmm.... never seen any speed limits on Givi cases that I’ve had fitted. I had V37s cases and a 46 litre top box on my Versys and I have a pair of 36 litre Dolomitis on my SuperTen and never seen a max speed warning about them.

The V46 on my K1200RS didn't have a speed rating either. The Trekkers showed up with a separate warning card, with speed and load ratings.

I can't remember it was the RT or ST, or maybe both, that had a sticker inside that had the 22lb weight restriction, and an 88mph speed restriction. I don't know about the weight, but the speed restriction was violated . . . . a time or two.

Just returned from a trip to Oklahoma. I was also concerned about the weight limit so I weighed mine. 37 lbs for one and 34 lbs for the other. Both cases are 48L Trekker Outback and saw speeds at 80+ on the interstate. I would be worried about taking them off road with that much weight but they did great on the highway.

I've done about 100/110mph for shurt bursts loaded up with the panniers/top case, and 30L dry bags on each pannier lid. Not even a hint of a wobble.

What's the max speed on a freeway in the States ? Maybe it's in line with that ?
It changes depending on the state, goes from the standard 55MPH to 85MPH. (roughly ~90KM/H to ~140KM/H)

It also depends on the county inside the state. Here in northern virginia, HWY 66 starts at 55MPH near DC, then bumps up to 65MPH at Fairfax county, and up to 70MPH past it.

The owners manual cautions to fit either the panniers or the top box, but not both at the same time. Total legal CYA stuff if you ask me.

They don't want you overloading the bike. I don't ride 2up, so I'd need quite a bit of gear to max out.

I have clocked 120mph 2 up with full luggage no problem. I dont like those big topboxes as they are too wide and sit too far back. I mounted the aluminum plate for mine as far forward as i could and removed all the plastic shite.

It's like the fjr, the oe top cases are mono lock so only take a very low weight capacity . Pop a monokey 46 ltr top box on the oe rack and watch as it waves goodbye and comes off.........

Haven't had a problem with the GIVI Monolock 46l. Makes me glad I never wanted a smaller monolock. It would have come off already, on my K1200RS.

Loan is in progress. Should be picking up a new 2019 S10 tomorrow :D
I feel like a kid in a candy store! All the accessories are sitting in my room waiting to be put on. lol

Problem comes if u overload a mono lock usually the rack is only designed for 6kg . Box is prob about 3kg so it doesnt take much capacity wise before u are over the limit and the fixings give way
