X BMW GS owner enjoying the hell out of my S10. Well time always tells the truth and the truth is this bike just keeps getting better and better. 12k miles in 6 months and I enjoy pushing the problem free start button every time. Just thought I would pass on one mans worthless thoughts. ::021::

Given some of the places I've been in the last couple days, I am definitely glad to have such a worry free steed. ::012::

Just talked with a friend that has a 2005 r1200gs with 54,000 miles on it. He just got back from a 3900 mile trip and did not have one problem. He was feeling it was time for a new ride, but after this trip he was so happy he said he was looking forward to another 20,000 miles. If he gets that he feels the bike has served him well. And this got me thinking, he has replaced 2 final drives $900.00 each for the parts and many hours of labor. New clutch about 900.00 for parts and split the bike in half, many many many hours of labor. New front disks,(could be thought of as norm maint dep on how the bike has been used) I have no idea how much but I am sure not cheap and a few other odds and ends. And he feels this bike has served him well. BS I say. If my S10 has 100,000 miles on it and I need to add oil before the next oil change I will be shocked and a bit unhappy. I have no reason to think this bike will need anything other than normal maint. oil change and other fluids for 200k. As an X BMW owner I can say I enjoy the start button more and more, push and go.
