Nice project. There are two things I have a problem with...
... the stock tail rack will break.
... that is a lot of weight to be located high and behind the axle.

Recently did a day trip with mixed surfaces. I took my tools that weigh too much. Put the tools in a tail bag securely attached to a Altrider tail rack. Have ridden these roads MANY times. The Tenere was not turning like it normally does and eventually realized the additional weight was the cause. Could have changed the suspension setting from Rider + Luggage to Rider + Passenger but I wanted to see how the handling was affected in the rough section. I did feel the rear suspension bottom out twice where normally this would not happen. Locating the tool bag on the passenger seat (area) in front of the rear axle would have affected the rear suspension less. When I travel with the side cases I load the tools to the front and bottom of the box.

I put a 30 cal box on the right side to hold the same compressor and my tools. That allows room for a nice trunk too!
