Hi guys,
My wife and I depart at noon tomorrow on our new Silver, XT1200Z S10 from Chiriqui, Panama to our "Home Land" the US, on a 3 month coast to coast ride to see what's left, before many more bridges fall. We'll be entering the US at Brownsville, Tx. then see the sights and visit a few Yamaha dealerships on the way to Dearfield Beach, Fl. Then up to the Cape, Savanna, Ga, Atlanta, Montgomery, Hattiesburg, Ms. Longview, Tx. Abaline, Hobbs , Nm. Tucson, Phoenix, San Diego, Ca. Monterey, Salinas, SF, Sonoma, Redding, Brookings, Or. Columbia River, Beaver, Olympian Peninsula, Wa. Mt Rainier, Pendleton, Goose Lake, Nor East Ca, and HWY 395 to Incline Village to see my kids, their kids, and their kids. (I've got 5 Great Grand Children) Then my youngest Son and his youngest daughter, (14 yrs) will ride with us through the Grand Canyon area, before we retrace our steps down thru the Gulf Coast of Mexico, then Central America.
Anyone wishing to join in, we'd appreciate the local knowledge and the company. Let us know, as we'll have our laptops. GP

Hey GP, that sounds like a heck of a ride. I know that this is not your first rodeo, but be a little extra paranoid til you cross the U.S. border. Send us an update when you can, with pics if possible.

Danny has been detailing his ride here and was down for 3 weeks waiting on parts - he's really anxious to get back on the road, glad to see he found a lot of friends along the way.

Ride safe.

Let me know when you're reaching Northern California. I'll buy the first... beverage, LOL, provided I'm not at work when you two pass through.

Looks like they made it to Florida. This was posted on ADV yesterday. I replied today, telling them it was probably the rider from Panama on the trip we read about on this forum.

This is what was posted:

"I thought they weren't in the states until may? I rode next go one on I10 east bound pensacola at 5.30 this afternoon .In person it looks like a triumph tiger and a vstrom mated . they were riding 2 up loaded to the gills . silver in color. what is up with that side mount radiator?.It seems like it was handleing the load 2 up ok. Not my thing but seems ok ."

I saw motopan was online a few days back so I sent him a PM to see how it was going. I'm not sure if he noticed it or not. It sure sounds like it's them in FL.

Yeah, that's got to be them. Good to hear that they made it past all of the trouble in Mexico. I hope that he gives an update soon.

GP,

I'm right outside Sacramento, CA (half way between Sacramento and Tahoe on Hwy 50). Look us up when you get close!! Also, you need ANYTHING, I got it or I'll get it! Whatever's necessary.
