Went to the 2019 Calgary MC show.
BMW
Nothing earth shattering. GS 850 looks pedestrian, but their blurb reads like you can take on the world with it, and no other bike

They will sell tons to the right crowd.

KTM
790 feels light. Can't really tell, they had it shackled in a front stand.
Feels a bit cramped. Mr.Evil (pictured) is 5'9"
Cat is right above the almost horizontal shock..should be good for oil, and one's ass.

No mention of price.
2019 Calgary MC show.

Yamaha
No T7.
Nikken three wheeler...walked past it.
MT-09 looks good in the new colors

Honda
AT: Told one of the honda guys I know that the bike is great. The fork sucks, and they dropped the ball. He had no idea of the issues (Sales manager)

New CFR450 ds looks and feels very good. A bit pricy.
Open cartridge showa forks. Top adjustable.
LED blinkers that bend right back, so will not break on the 1st drop.
Long service intervals. Some dude that rode it claimed 30k km. I call bs.

They had the ATAS in primer....terrible color.

Ya, we attended the Bike show on Saturday, 5th. at the International Center near the Toronto international airport.
Busy busy busy.
No 2019 S-Tens on display.
Honda lots of Africa twins going for good prices.
All in all, It's a great motorcycle show and a great way to spend a winter's day.
Next show in Toronto is close to the downtown area at the Enercare Center. Went there last year. It's a great show as well, just smaller with a focus on new bikes.

Did you wander by the Triumph display? I just read a write up on on their new '19 Scramblers. Oh my. I'd do chain maintenance on that XE.

I attended the 2019 IMS show here in Dallas this last weekend. Its just getting smaller and smaller. Overall pretty disappointing. Neither KTM or YAMAHA showed up... I can somewhat understand KTM, but for YAMAHA not to show up, I think this is crazy. It was very obvious that the 'show' was trying to burn up floor space and not to have the appearance of the show being much smaller. The "insurance companies" have more of a presence of anyone in the building. Its should be called the "International Insurance Show"...... Anyhow, overall disappointed.

Even the manufactures that showed up, they left out huge segments of their product line. I don't know how they make these decisions but if a potential customer wanted to see what they are really truly interested in, you probably won't see it at the show.

On a positive note, Honda introduced there new "Talon" UTV. They had these cool motion chairs with audio and VR goggles. First time Ive tried VG goggles. Anyhow, you put this stuff on and sit in this 'special' chair and then you watch this VERY cool off road video of you riding along in the new UTV Talon. This is like a 3D experience while not leaving your chair, no pun intended. This was a VERY cool experience and recommended to anyone who might see this set up sitting there in the Honda booth. Give this a try if you have the chance, the video is 5 minutes long. It really feels like your riding along in this new machine out in the desert of California! This was a very powerful selling tool for Honda. I thought I "have to buy one of these" after I got out of this contraption. After I shook that that idea off, I stood back for about 15 minutes and watched other people get out of the chair. Every person that got out of that 'experience' walked away telling there friends or family "I have to get one of those" ! Really impressive.

Be safe out there ! Thanks

I believe that I did pass by the Triumph display of bikes, but don't recall much. I like the displays of older bikes etc. You know with all of those young ladies dressed in skimpy black attire.

I also went to the Dallas show last weekend. Very disappointing. I agree with Tabasco on what was (not) there. Was even disappointing on the small amount of vendors, if you didn't count Cycle Gear. The Honda CB1000 was a really nice bike though.

Rode my bike to the show, and parked next to a Gen 2 copy of my bike. Although it was a lot cleaner.

We drove to bike show in Toronto in a car.
However, it would have been possible to ride there, but our day started out at about minus 2 C (28 F).
I did see a handful of bikes, but very few. Most of us riders here in Canada put the bike away for the winter, me from late November until late April. Sucks, I know.

 Now that I don't HAVE to ride in the cold....I don't. I haven't gone to the motorcycle show in years. Like HeliMark, I find them disappointing. I remember "back in the day" when I couldn't wait to go, and see EVERYTHING the manufacturers brought.

Honda, I think has dropped the ball because I see nothing new tis year. I traded in both motorcycles CB650F AND my Africa twin for a 2018 Super Tenere. It was either another Africa twin or a Goldwing....no no no. Not my cup of tea.

Which AT did you have? ATAS or regular? Why the trade to the tenere? I went the other way.
Well used 2012 to a new 2017 tri color manual

Just wanted something new/else. Tired of oiling the chain. Mine was a black 2016 manual. 30,000 KM in two seasons (Stratford Ontario). The AT is a great bike and it will likely do most things for you. I'd say the AT is more suitable for off road and trail use than the Tenere.
It's lighter and a higher ground clearance of 9 1/2 inches
So, enjoy your new steed. If you're a long distance driver I suspect it won't be as comfortable as the Ten. I say this but remember I haven't taken delivery of my new '18 Tenere yet. Happy trails, as Roy Rogers used to sing.

Forgot to mention I have a Honda OEM lower seat black colour if you need to lower the seat height by another 34 mm or 1 1/4 inches.
