I personally went with black. AltRiders lower guard and skid plate. To me, they match the frame and can be touched up easier than trying to find silver paint to match. But it's whatever floats your boat that counts. ::012::
The silver bars are not painted, but stainless steel so no need for paint. Stainless steel for the win.

The black bars are also stainless steel with black powder coating.
But you still need to paint them black if you lay the bike down. Stainless steel is crash and go, and no silver paint needed as you suggested.

I would be willing to bet that if you lay it down on the silver bars, you are going to want to touch up the scars on those bars as well! I'm OCD like that! :D

Over time SS changes color as it continues to passivate to the environment it is in. NO BIG DEAL....some Scotch Brite with water will brighten them up. So if you take a skid on the crash bars, It is easy to blend the color back in.....the gouges?.....depends

If you really want to paint SS (sacrilege!) I strongly suggest the SS be lightly blasted first....adhesion will vary without the blast

On your way to everywhere, , Iowa
or better front fender clearance , Right Snake? Just kidding you.

PS
I happen to own one of Jaxson's skid plates now.
It came with Matts parts bike.
A little bent up but maybe a big sledge will fix it.

Actually, it has perfect front fender clearance. Just not an OEM fender. ;)

My fender has been custom fit now. Lol
