After much deliberations, tips from this Forum, I'll be pulling the trigger on AltRiders.

Now the question is color. Silver or Black on my 17 Cobalt Blue.

Oh we are so vain!

Consider crash bars an extension of the frame. If the frame is silver, then they should be silver. If the frame is black, then black.

Silver will compete with the primary color and Black will enhance the Cobalt Blue.

What Altrider items are you purchasing?

Makes sense. Might add a bit of Silver with the Skid Plate

Black seems to be the popular vote so far.

For now going with lower AltRider guards and a skid plate from Jaxon.

Personally, I think "silver" crash bars and the bare aluminum Altrider skid plate would look great with the Cobalt Blue. With the silver graphics & spokes, it both contrast and ties everything together. That being said, my Mastec crash bars were only available in black and they look OK. I do have the Altrider bare skid plate and it looks, and mounts, great. But, don't worry what other people think is good; your opinion is the only one that matters for YOUR bike. ;)

I have a matte grey/black '14 ES and I'm going all black with my hardware. I like the stealth look.

Bare silver is good. Black is easy to touch up with Rustoleum and a small brush.

I agree.
I did go with the raw aluminum skid plate though... back skid plates don't remain that way for long when they get used!

I went silver everything and love it. Like others have said I can go to black easier if I want to.

Be careful though, because once you go black.... ::025::

Silver, it is.

Hope to get it in about a week.

(no no.. no running commentary on the progress, this time!)

I personally went with black. AltRiders lower guard and skid plate. To me, they match the frame and can be touched up easier than trying to find silver paint to match. But it's whatever floats your boat that counts. ::012::
