I know the paint is hardly dry on the 2014 Super Tenere's but has there been any word about the 2015 model?

I suspect with Yamaha's two year change cycle that we will see nothing but Bold New Grafics but stranger things have happened.

I too am curious as to what corporate has in mind for the 15 model year- anyone have an inside track on this ????? I have had the first US edition (preorder in 11 and delivery as a 12) and we all know that this is simply the best all around bike hands down - looking forward to selling and getting a new one just to keep updated.

I am listening. Someone on this forum said there no changes for for the 2015 ES. Don't know what his connections with Yamaha are but either way we would get a discounted 2014 ES or an improved 2015 ES.

I have no insider info, just thoughts…

Seems like complete revamp of bikes is getting longer. Used to be every couple years, you'd see some radical changes. At least it was that way in the sport bike side. I think Yamaha may let it sit in its current form with only minor changes for '15. I think they are focusing on a smaller "cc" version of the Super Ten…

I think in '16 we'll see some major changes. The Super Ten has been around since '11 (in Europe). And the GSA got an overhaul after that. I think they'll be shooting to make a lighter and slightly more powerful Super Ten.

Yamaha has a monster, three cylinder four-stroke snowmobile engine that would make a great starting point for a high performance triple to power the next gen Super Teneres. I suspect whatever major update we see next will be in the powerplant dept., as the 1200cc twin we have now is often cited for being soft on overall output. The adventure touring class is loaded with great choices today...and most all offer more boost than the S10. Funny thing is, my S10 feels every bit as quick and every bit as torquey as my GS - despite the less impressive numbers. In terms of real world effectiveness, the current engine works great.

Twins make better adventure bikes do to power delivery thus why you see this common theme with all the manufacturers save Triumph, which is having problems with its Tiger Transfering over do to its sharp power delivery, perfect for the road, not so perfect off the Tarmac.

I would be happy to see a 2015 in white. But to really impress me add some real sump protection and side guards as standard.

I have no inside information, but given the 2014 changes, I'd be very surprised if 2015 offers anything other than new colors/BNG. The S10 is a slow-seller in general, so I bet we're in for at least a few years of few, if any, changes as there is simply no budget for making frequent refreshes. The wild card is Yamaha deciding they are unsatisfied with the S10's sales with the current design and they're attacking the big adventure segment from a completely new POV - perhaps a different engine or a radical re-design of the one we currently have.

For the next couple years, I think we'll see Yamaha concentrating on getting the R1 and R6 back in the supersport game.

Forget a triple. They're great engines but not for the S10.
I've got a Tiger Sport and as good as it is it's too buzzy. They're good if you are coming across from a 4 cyl inline but break your heart after a twin. Regret swopping my TDM900 for the Tiger, should have hung out for S10. And if you want a high powered adventure bike go get a Ducati.

Twins rule!

KTM 1290 Adventure in 2015, the competition are moving on, Yamaha will too in time, but I'm guessing colours only in 2015. More likely that we will see a 700 or 900 adventure bike based on the MT07 or MT09 before the S10 gets a revamp.

I predict that only BNG for 2015 and I wonder if the number of bikes produced will be dialed down. I have been looking around for a 2014 and every dealership that I have visited does not have a 2014 on the floor and told me that they had no intention of ordering one unless someone put money down. I was told that while everyone liked the bike that it was a very slow seller and dealers hate to have a model gather dust.
I was told that there are still 2013 models in the warehouse!
What one very large dealership told me was that everyone who wanted one got one and then sales slumped. This dealer had two of the Suzuki adventure bikes on the floor, the ones with the v twin 1000cc motors, that are designed to compete with the Super Ten. I asked the guy about that and he said that the V-strom had been out longer had a larger following and that those were a steady seller.

Hi all, I'm eagerly waiting the 2015 model...I plan on buying a '14 or '15 S10. I'm not a fan of the grey color of the '14 but if nothing but BNG changes on the '15 and I can find a leftover discounted '14 ES I'll be all over it. Personally, the best color so far was the white with retro graphics.

Per an earlier post, I have checked several local dealers and none have a '14 in stock so it may be a chore to find a leftover. :(

I would've expected that Yamaha would have at least given a date by now for when they will unveil the remaining 2015 models.

More 2015 models will be introduced at the AIME Expo in Orlando, FL. Oct 16 and 17 for dealers, the public can see them on the 18th and 19th. Demo rides will be available.

Fred are you going to AIME Expo? If so, I would like to hear your educated report. If there aren't significant changes I will be searching for a good deal on 2014.

Hi Tim,

I would love to go, as I could attend the dealer only showing and ride the new bikes, but that conflicts with my ride to the Super Ten rally in AR. I plan to leave home about the time of the Orlando show and then meet up with my son who is riding up from Biloxi and then we plan on taking the scenic route to the Hub, arriving on Sunday, the 18th.

Although that now has me wondering if I should ride to Orlando for the dealer portion of the show, then ride to Biloxi to meet up with my son and then on to AR. Hmmmm, I'll have to think about that. :-\
