Hey, Fellow Super Tenere Riders!

Looking for an owner of a new 2014 model Super Tenere in Georgia... Northeast Georgia near Dahlonega would be even better.

Parabellum (http://parabellum.com/) is interested in developing a new windshield for the 2014 Super Tenere, and they need a bike for a few days to do their R&D, measurements, etc. In return for the use of your brand new *STOCK* 2014 Super Tenere you will get a free Parabellum shield for you bike once the new windscreen is developed and ready.

Interested parties can either PM me for details or send an email to Brenda at bikes@syclone.net

Remember, they will need you to leave your bike with them for a few days, and the bike needs to be *STOCK*.

Again, let me know if you need any additional information or drop Brenda an email.

Hope somebody can get a 2014 by their shop soon. Their windscreen for the 2012-2013 was arguably the very best 'screen out there for the Super Tenere, and no doubt they can develop something just as fantastic for the 2014 model.

Thanks!

Dallara

I wish I was close. I need a new screen bad (I am 6'6"). I emailed them a few weeks ago and their response back was there is no difference from the 2013 and to just buy the tallest available lol.

Just make sure Parabellum designs the windshield without bar risers on the bike like they did on the 2012. Can't set it on the low position because of this. Bar risers clearly visible on their website. Spoke to them about this at the time I got my windshield and they didn't seem too concerned. Not sure I'd buy another Parabellum.

I don't think they were aware of any real changes to the 2014 until just the past couple of weeks. They do a lot of different bikes, and I don't think the Super Tenere is one of their high-priority model motorcycles.

Hmmmmmm... Interesting.

I never had any problem with mine, with or without bar risers. When I first got my Parabellum I didn't have risers, and it worked fine. Then I got some RoxRisers and didn't have any problem then, either, and my Parabellum windscreen has done more than 20,000 miles on my bike with the risers. IIRC there are a bunch of other forum members (like Hannabone, etc.) here who have Parabellum 'screens and I don't recall any of them ever mentioning any issues, either.

Wonder why there was a problem with yours?

Try putting your screen in the lower position. The handguards and flashers definitely get in the way of lowering it. Had to do some cutting and hacking to make mine fit. Was not impressed. But did make it fit eventually.

Why on Earth would you want to put the Parabellum shield in the lower mounting holes?

It's pretty clear from the design and shape of the shield it was designed and developed from the beginning to go in the upper holes only. I could readily see that the very day I got it. No problem. Just mounted it in the upper holes where it was designed from start to go. That's one of the great things about it. The way it mounts it vents the proper amount of air through the bottom to help eliminate negative pressure behind the shield... Kind of what CalSci shoots for with their little vent hole. And with the side wings on the Parabellum extending almost all the way down to the turn signals - when properly mounted in the *TOP* holes of the Yamaha bracket - you quickly find there is really no reason for something like the Yamaha accessory side air deflectors.

If I recall correctly Parabellum's own instructions say to put their 'screen in the upper mounting holes.

So again, I ask... Why would you want to put the Parabellum shield in Yamaha's lower mounting holes, where it was obviously *NOT* designed to go? :-\
