Just a tip for those that need to drill holes. The easiest way for me was using a spade bit. Secure the dash insert onto a 2x4 or piece of wood with clamps, center punch for a guide for the bit and go for it.

Also, when installed, the clutch cable may touch a little corner of the insert. I took about 3/16th of an inch off this corner with a dremel and then used generic car door molding to prevent any possible cuts of the cables. Great product!

TimLaw,
Thanks for the comments. Any pictures of the finished product you could snap and upload would be appreciated.

Here you go Jeff.

Still room for more things down the road. :)
Looks good. I'm doing similar but put in 2 2port USB sockets, 1 12v and a voltmeter. I did similar to you description to drill it out but used a step drill bit.

What did you use to paint it?

I'm still waiting on my Eastern Beaver stuff to hook it up... Got notice it shipped yesterday.

I just used some flat black paint I had laying around.

I did the Eastern Beav about a month ago and can offer tips if you need it. Pretty easy on the '14 that I have and I would recommend placing it under the top right plastic fairing with about a 2 minute mod to remove a little plastic. Some place it where the tools go, but if you want easy access, on top is the place.

BTW, I hooked up the voltage meter, 15 amp plug and USB (all daisy chained and fused) to the switched on the Beaver.

I have just ordered one to be sent over here to UK, I need to find a neat ambient temp gauge (Yamahas Intake air temp is not a true indication of the ambient temp) to fit in to the dash when it arrives any guys on here recommend one and where's best to fit the probe to get best readings, eliminating wind chill and heat generated from the bike ?

I installed a generic set of 12v, two 2 port USB and a voltmeter.

Coated it with plastidip that I held further away han they tell you to give it a texture finish. Ran some car door edge protector stuff on it to protect the cables/hoses/wires on the bars.

All wired into a 15 amp fuse on a 3 connection Eastern Beaver relay/fuse set up.

Just installed it tonight.

Finally got round to fitting mine today.

If there are any guys in the UK that want some of the edging strip, let me know, I have enough for 2 panels left.
