Just putting it out here, in case anyone might be interested. Amongst some other used S10 parts, there's a complete 2014 model clutch (basket, plates & diaphragm spring) up for grabs on e-bay for the very reasonable sum of £107 ($162), plus delivery. The seller is a bike breaker in the Netherlands who I recently bought a pair of Alt-rider engine bars from and I was very impressed with his service.

I'd normally have bitten his hand off at that price but i've already done the swap on mine. So, if you were thinking about doing the clutch basket conversion to your pride and joy, grab yourself a bargain. If you haven't already done it, just set the item location tag on your Yamaha XT1200/motorcycle parts e-bay page to 'worldwide' and you'll soon come across it. Good hunting. ::008::

Nice one Midlife. ::008:: Keep us up to date on how it all goes but I don't think you'll be disappointed with the conversion, especially at that price. It also looks as though we have similar tastes in our bikes colours too! ::022::

Thanks to Mikey my clutch has arrived from Holland already. It has not been dismantled and looks as if it was simply slid off the rod. It has two washers for the back and the nut and push pin for the front. Am I mistaken or is this really going to be as easy as undoing the main nut, sliding off old clutch and sliding on the new? Any more info I should know?
I have looked at Koinz brilliant step by step but that involves complete disassembly, it would suit me not to have to do that as my spannering skills are very limited.
Once again thanks for the heads up Mikey... I owe you a beer ::003::

Thanks for the compliment Midlife. In order to tighten the nut to 90 ft lbs, you'll need to hold the inner hub from turning so you'll have to remove a few of the plates at least. Makes sure you orient the washers correctly and stake the nut in place after torquing. Pretty easy to do really. oh and the first couple of disc are oriented differently than the rest. Karson provided a link for that and I made it available in my instructions.

A bargain, hopefully some more will turn up in future, although come 24k service time I may just order a new one from the states along with the new camchain tensioner.
