I've thought about a manual as well but I'm unsure of how to set the proper tension the first time around. Also its very likely that I will be bringing the bike to a dealership so I don't know how they would feel about installing a MCT.
My S10 is due for its first valve check and I had all intentions of performing myself but the lack of space around the engine as well as the cam chain guide has me a bit worried. The whole valve check nightmare thread has my confidence low. I've shimmed KLR's before but they are relativly easy to work on with reasonable space. I understand the methodolgy of it all, just nervous that something may go wrong with the timing. There is a very reputable dealership (BMW) in my area who works on all types of bikes. They quoted me around 4 hrs to do the check, and I understand the need to shim will likely add another 1-2 hrs to the total. I may just go that route. Due to work commitments I don't know if I will have the time to complete myself.
I don't want to offend you with a lowball on the CCT so I would prefer you list an asking price. I believe they are around $200 here in Canada but not sure about the US.
Is the CCT you have the latest part number or one of the earlier 2014+ versions?
