2012 Yamaha Super Tenere - NO TRADES

-34,117 miiles as of 26 September 2019

-Located Ellicott City MD

-Original owner purchased via Yamaha's PDP deposit program and delivered in August 2011

-Mainly used for commuting in San Diego prior to moving to Maryland in 2015. Since then mile accumulation has been slow. Sometimes you'll see ads for this kind of motorcycle that say "used as intended" which is more or less saying "beat to hell." This has not been used as intended, and if not commuting was used for sport touring. Has been on dirt roads but maybe 0.5% of its life. Probably less than that.

-Maintenance has been performed as scheduled, all by me. I'm qualified. One valve was out of spec, and was corrected at the major 26k service (done a bit early). Written record available.

-Currently mounted tires are Continental Road Attack 2 Evo. Also have a set of Shinko 804/805 that comes with the bike.

-Altrider rear case mount $229.97

-Givi side case racks (not the quick release kind) $206.10

-SW Motech skid plate $336.95

-Altrider crash bars (minor scuffs on paint finish) $482.97

-Skene "photon blaster" lights with alert and turn signal feature. These are a genuine life saver. I don't like riding a bike without them. $165

-Madstad adjustable windscreen bracket (They don't sell this anymore since it seems that they have the thought that they can make a better windscreen and pair their brackets with a windscreen nowadays. I paid $153.85)

-Calsci Medium Windscreen $185
-Stock windscreen cut down and painted black for riding in summer heat

-Flash Tune ECU bikeside flash kit. I was one of the pioneering users of this software for the Super Tenere. My map is set that Touring mode is as stock, Sport mode is smooth in gears 1-2 at low rpm with top end restriction removed. Higher gears are more or less 1:1 throttle opening as if it was a real throttle and not electronic. I keep it in Sport mode. $380

-Protaper ATV Mid handlebar $63

-Vibration isolating adjustable Rox handlebar risers $146.65

-RideOnAdv longer brake and clutch lines to accommodate the higher bars $116

-Oxford Adventure heated handgrips $89.95

-Amazon Chinese LED lightbar mounted under the headlights $20

-FIAMM freeway blaster low tone horn powered via relay $16

-Fuzeblocks FZ-1 switched power distribution $89.99

-Shorai LFX19A4-BS12 lithium battery $160

-K&N Air Filter

-Altrider sidestand foot

-Stock brake lines, rear luggage rack

I played the Incredible Hulk one time when replacing the right side upper fairing and tightened a screw enough to crack the plastic. I epoxied the back side of it so it is quite strong, but the cracks are still evident.

The gas tank has a ding on the left front which is maybe the diameter of the tip of my pinky finger. I have dainty fingers. The depth is maybe a mm or two. I have no idea how this happened. I have 2 little kids, so I blame them.

Add up the current rates of all those aftermarket parts, and you have roughly $3000 on top of a bike that cost me $13.5k new.

Asking $5200.

Thanks! Every time I sell a bike, other than my Buells, I wish I still had that bike years later. Seems that since I've had this one for 8 years, that I'm likely to keep it. No tears, just got bored with it. Also have an XSR900.

I'm always on the lookout for a better bike, but they all have drawbacks. Biggest problem is not enough time to ride.
One alternative to taking a bath by selling it cheap is to just upgrade it and keep it. Maybe new suspension or electronic cruise control. Add a totally different bike to the stable like a dual sport, if you don't have one, Variety is the spice of life.

Ron -
I think your price is fair, especially with the farkles you've added. Hang in there and advertise as much as you can. I'd put it in CL from Harrisburg to So MD, Eastern Shore, and DE.

Would you sell your Madstad adjustable windscreen bracket alone? I am trying to find one for my 2012. Thanks.
