Does anybody else have issues with the Sidestand tang interfering with foot placement or shifting .On my bike it right in front of the footpeg and hinders my shifting ... Ideas ,mod's,solutions ??

Bent it to where it sticks out more perpendicular to the bike.
My boots are above it and the pegs (HUGE) shield me from it.

To lower the kickstand I have to look down at the tang and position my heel on it.

I cut it off, leaving the part for the spring of course. The tradeoff is it makes it a bit harder to lower the side stand.

Chopped. I lower the stand by placing my foot on the stand's foot. Never could figure out how to use it as they intended.

I do believe, after checking part numbers associated with that area, that the 2014 model sidestand will fit the older model. I was thinking of getting one as I like it.

That thingy caught in my boot while standing and caused me to drop my bike in front of the yamaha dealership while at the Arkansas rally. Chopped it off when I got home. Revenge was sweet.

With my SIDI boots, I can't really use the tang because of how big the ankle cockpit is. I use my heel to push down directly on the sidestand foot. Having the lift the footpeg up just to push the tang down was a really stupid design.

When replaing the 2012 side stand with the newer one, did the new stand just bolt up with the 2012 hardware?
Or do we need to get the new spring, bolt, switch or any other related parts? Thanks.
