069 and ABS Error

I have a 2016 ST and it developed a fault with a 069 error code, indicating no signal from the front wheel sensor. But the ABS and TCS warning lights are on as well. The bike rides normally but without ABS and TCS
And no cruise control and unable to adjust suspension. I can adjust the damping but the page for pre-load is not available. When i clear the error code everything goes back to normal. I can turn on cruise control and pre-load page is available again and can use it. But when i take off, it goes back to the error codes and warning lights again. I have changed the front wheel sensor but did not fix it. So the only thing i can think of is the rear wheel sensor.
Has anyone had similar problems? I dont really care that much for the TCS and ABS but want my cruise control back.

Sounds like you have an open/shorted wire. Try the following:
Check the wires for evidence of chafing, and the connectors for loose/mangled/corroded connectors. Checking the resistance of the sensor wires from beginning to end(connectors must be disconnected) will show if you have an open. Checking the resistance of a connector pin to ground will reveal a short to ground. Checking the resistance from pin to pin will reveal a short between mutually run wire leads. All of this must be done with both connector ends disconnected, or you'll get erroneous results.

You should only have a few ohms of resistance across a connector, and not much more across a full wire run. There should be infinite resistance between two separate wires of a run(with both ends disconnected)

Thanks Skytower, had a go before reading your reply, checked the condition of the rear wheel sensor and rotor and jumped the ABS test connector to see for any fault codes. The flashing of the ABS light during the test indicates a sensor fault so you could be on to something. The fact that clearing the error codes and only to appear again once the wheels are spinning tells me that it only re-enforces that diagnosis. Will have a go at that and will let you know.

I suspect the the rear sensor now as well, particularly as it showed up only after the engine has been removed and replaced for a top end overhaul. I will check the continuity of the leads affected as Skytower suggested.

Found it !!! The cowboys at the bike shop plugged the front wheel sensor plug in the throttle switch plug, the one that disables the cruise control. Identical plugs, just in front of the air filter box. Still don't why they had to be disconnected to get the engine out.

44,500 km, premature valve wear and compression loss due to incorrect air cleaner. Its a long story and i am still in dispute with the dealer.
Bikebiz in Parramatta for the local members, stay away from them.
