Power band flat between 3k to 4k after valve clearance adjustment.

Did you make sure it didn't jump a tooth on the crank sprocket? Did you back off the cam chain tensioner and release it after it was put back on?

Brand new tall Windshield for a 2013 $75

Cee Baily got out of the motorcycle windshield business back in 2017. They were some great windshields and I had several on my bikes over the years. This is a good deal on a NOS windshield if the shipping isn't a deal killer.

    Improving brake performance

I have the shorty levers and my S10 will challenge the front abs anytime you ask it to. The calipers mount solid to the forks so you don't have a problem with any slider pins being froze up. Like Zigzag said, check to be sure a piston isn't froze up which would take away half your stopping...

    Clutch lever and mirrors.

I guess I'm an oddball. I put on gen 2 mirrors and sold the gen 1 mirrors. I liked the gen 2 mirrors so much I put a set on my KLR.

    Scammers

If you use Paypal don't keep any funds in PP's hands and always pay "goods and services" through PP with a credit card. Do not let PP have access to your checking account and don't pay anyone you don't know with Venmo, Zelle or PP family and friends.

    Shinko 705: A cautionary tale

I was a small shop and all three major distributors gave me free shipping on all orders over $100. Almost every dealer gets free shipping. As I said earlier WPS, Tucker & Parts have about 15 warehouses spread across the country. Almost any shop you walk into can grab a catalog, look up the tire...

    Shinko 705: A cautionary tale

There are three major tire distributors in the US, Western Powers Sports (WPS), Tucker and Parts Unlimited. They have warehouses spread out all over the country. I would say that 90% of the shops in the US can get a tire from one of them overnight. Why they won't do this for a customer, I don't...

    Shinko 705: A cautionary tale

That is right. When I was poor riding the GS, I welded two old nuts together and made a front axle tool for free. More gas.

    Oil change interval

I think how you ride really makes a difference on how dirty the oil gets . I wanted to go see some family on the west coast and the weather was perfect so I jumped on the Goldwing and took off. Three days out, three days back and 4500 miles on the bike and the oil still looked as clean as when I...

    Shinko 705: A cautionary tale

Almost every sport bike on the road uses a 17" tire. I would have put one on and rode home.

Oil light coming on for a while..

Can you explain what you're saying?

    There's a reason for that.

Stay away from this Air filter

I sold Hiflo oil and air filters for 25+ years and I don't think I ever had a bad one. That doesn't mean there aren't some bad ones that slipped through, but overall they are a good filter.

Melted gauge cluster - Vstream windshield

I melted the speedo housing on my KLR with a V-Stream windshield. Always threw a towel over it after that.

    Chain Breaker and Riveter.

Most of the time you're probably correct, unless you're stuck in BFE and need to take a link out.

    Chain Breaker and Riveter.

Out on the road a chain breaker may be handy, but working in the shop all I do is grind the rivet flat, put a chisel on the plate and tap it with a hammer. Thirty second job.

I just don't really know then, but some how it figures out what the cam is doing.

Valve adjustment - more lessons learned

A wasted spark system is usually used to cut down on the number of coils used. With each cylinder having it's own coil that wouldn't be needed. Also if the ecm doesn't know the position of the cams or when a cylinder is on the intake stroke it also wouldn't know when to inject fuel into the...

Valve adjustment - more lessons learned

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the S10 has a camshaft sensor. I believe it has an intake sensor on the left cylinder that tells the ECM which stroke the engine is on.
