The east side of the Alpine Tunnel is HIKE in only, a long uphill hike. Plus you would have to leave your bike out in the middle of nowhere. If anyone is going to the tunnel they should watch this first. Alpine Tunnel The Inside Story - tunnel interior taped just before cave-in and seal in 1992...

You might like this. Lots of mining means lots of wealth. This leads to a lot of precious ore being transported via stagecoach. Of course, this leads to stagecoach robberies. In 1879, the stage line from Leadville to Buena Vista began having multiple holdups by the same masked bandit. No one...

Would love to make it out for this. But don't count on me for anything, with my granddaughters making all my plans these days. You really have me reminiscing about riding out there again, just so much to see and do. Hope you don't mind if I add some pictures of the area. There is just endless...

Actually Sierra1, scott123007 could be the most talented rider on this forum. I've rode with him and I think he was some kind of a professional road racer when he was younger.

    Oil Change Complication

When I put a few hundred miles on my new 17, I went to change the oil and the filter would not come off. Ended ripping the filter off with the filter threads still stuck to the union bolt. Totally seized on. It was warranty of course, and luckily I had the one off my wrecked Tenere to use.

Valve adjustment - more lessons learned

Glad it's working out for you, when I read your first post I thought great here goes another valve adjustment going very bad. I have always come to the conclusion that in mechanic work if you are not positive that it is right then it most likely is NOT RIGHT.

Valve adjustment - more lessons learned

I'm thinking that each time the engine is started the intake pressure sensor on the #1 cylinder tells the ecm it's on the intake stroke and the ecm times everything from that with the crank position sensor. This statement bugged me because the Tenere does-not need an intake pressure sensor to...

911 miles of Missouri Back Roads

Down in Missouri this morning. Stopped for coffee along the Fox River. Then I was close to a trail I had tried riding twice before but with all the overgrowth I had to turn back. Finally, this time it had looked like the county had gone through and opened it back up.

Hi Patrick I would suspect that Romney is out, I don't like riding east. As for a meet up in Arkansas, I'm all for it but my planning events isn't going to happen. My granddaughters want to rule my life. I can't make any plans because at the last minute they make my plans. The best I can hope...

    2016-2021 STen cost to own

Why don't we look at the real facts here instead of made-up facts. 99% of my riding there is zero difference in performance between 87 or premium fuel. First let's look at the fact that the difference between fuel prices is not 20 to 30 cents per gallon. It is currently 81 cents. Check your...

I should also add-- I also have a 2017 Tenere and I have always thought that it will ping easier than the 12. But it is almost always loaded heavier with my wife and luggage on . I usually run better fuel in it than the 12.

    2012 Charging Problem

It is really easy to just take out the stator cover screws and pull the cover off to look at the stator. The top 1/3rd will probably be burnt black.

I would say that Yamaha had no other choice but to recommend 91 octane only. Like others have said in severe conditions it will ping under hard Excelleration, or under stress. [with low grade fuel] I have a lot of miles [over 347,500 ] on a 2012 and almost always use 87 octane 10% ethanol. But...
