    machine this adapter please

Anyone care to comment on the merit of this - I want an adapter which would allow my MSR campstove to use the cheap ol' propane in the big 16oz bottles instead of these high dollar 7oz things made for backpackers. I viewed an online camp stove demo where a guy had just such an adapter...

    Valve service suggestions

Hey guys - I just had the 1st valve service done at the dealer and he said next time ::010::- he's pulling the entire motor to make it faster - cheaper?? ::012:: I got the sense that the valve work wasn't a problem just the ultra tight fit for our fat 'merican fingers. I'm thinking...

    CDR - CannonShots tracks

Will start the Continental Divide Route next Saturday. It's just to nice this time of year to stay home + I have a fresh bottle of scotch. Should be down at the Mexico border noonish. I've down loaded the venerable cannonshot's tracks (from ADV). Anyone have advice for a 500 pound bike on...

tip sensor - bike won't start

Has anyone (else) had their tip sensor activate? Supposedly mine was triggered/activated which would not allow the bike to start last week. Also, why would the sensor register a tip over then wait a four months before it shut off the bike? I'm trying to figure out why my bike wouldn't start...

    Rack plate do it yerself

Amateur Mod time here. One of the first things I did was remove the passenger seat when I got the Tenere home. Wasn't it cool how Yamaha designed the under-seat space to make a level platform? However, that plastic surface isn't holding up so well , really getting rough looking with the gray...

    Short meandering ride summary

Greetings riders I wanted to post a single picture of one of the terrific rides I made last fall. This is our entrance to the Tetons. Anyone who's been there will remember this vista. This scene was part of a series of rides, 10,500 miles from Sept thru Nov 2011. Managed to touch both the...

    New Mexico dirt roads

I took some time last weekend to ride a portion of the "Shadow of the Rockies" ride in New Mexico. I would describe it as easy riding on dirt, gravel, and a small bit of 4-wheel drive trails. I did the northern section last weekend and wondered if anyone else might be interested in doing any...

    First time buffeting -?

The morning ride observation. I “had” 870 miles on the bike with no vibration or buffeting. This morning I went out for a First test run with the addition of the loaded cases. For the first time noticed some annoying wind buffeting. The cases, duffel and gear weigh 93 pounds. (The pelican...

3 months left to make a decision.

In the last five months this list has been revised more times than I can remember. I've listed it all here so I don't forget it. 1- First on the list is the Wasp Windshield adjuster. I hate wearing helmets. My thinking is if I can relieve the buffeting pressure on the helmet I’ll be happier...

Greetings from the dusty high plains

Hi - All. Happy Trails from Amarillo Texas. The map shows two Tenere's destined for this fine city. One blue and one black. Salute & Thanks to all for sharing their info and experience with those noobs like myself. I've been travelling for the last thirty ++ years on bicycles. Even though...
