I changed oil and filter recently. Put in the exact amount of oil as per handbook, 3.4ltrs. Ran bike up to temp and let it sit for 5 minutes and checked level. Just below high mark. Check it again hour later. Sight glass completely glass completely full.

Hi, Need bit of advice. Going to do an oil change on S10. On previous bikes I've alwaya used fully synthetic. However read somewhere that its better to use semi-synthetic on S10. Is this right? Thanks in advance . Allen.

Got bike for first decent run today since filter was cleaned. Running perfectly :):)

Had another chat with dealer. Filter was blocked with he discribed as slime. He did find out bike was parked up and not use for almost a year before he got it. So we assume fuel has gone off and blocked filter.

So saga continued. Once again after having been to main Yamaha dealers and new coils fitted. Couple of days later starts running badly again. Took it back independent dealer i brought it from. Who whet over everything again. Finally pulled fuel pump and striped it. Found fuel filter was almost...

Finally got bike back. Turns out it was intermittently going off cylinders. 4 new coils fitted. Lot smoother and more enjoyable to ride. Still judders a bit below 3000 rpm, although not as bad as my last bike KTM SMT. From what I've read here and other sites that's just way S10 is or am I wrong?

Well that didn't last long. Went for first long run yesterday, about 20 mile in bike started playing up again. Back to dealers, new spark plugs already black in few hundred miles. Appear to be over fuelling. Dealer is sending bike to main Yamaha dealer for full diagnostic of fuel system...

Thanks TS. Now even smoother. Checked throttle cable, zero play. Dialed in couple of mm play.

Problem solved, turned out need new spark plugs. It would appear they were never changed from new. When I purchase the bike it had 11,800 miles. Service book stamped at 10,500 miles and states 'engine oil, oil filter, final drive oil, air filter, spark plugs changed and throttle body balanced...

Yes the speed does drop.

Hi, Only had XT about 4 weeks and have a couple of questions. 1, Is anyone aware of any fueling issues between 2500 - 4000rpm? When riding in lowers gears in town on steady throttle the rpm suddenly drops for second or so before jumping back up again. Feels like the fuel or ignition has cut...

Hi, Only have XT few week. Exhaust headers are looking a bit tatty. Will probably clean them up over winter, but hard to tell if they were originally polished, painter black or somthing else? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks Allen
