    New super tenere owner

Welcome aboard! The Alt Rider lower bars are so expensive nowadays. Have them on mine and in my opinion they're overrated as they easily bend on just a tip over at 0mph. I'd suggest you take a look at the bars from Heed, I looked it up a bit and they seem solid with good reports, if not a...

O2 sensor eliminators aka fuel dongle?!

Yup, bike runs fine now and I wouldn't like to mess with that. I'll go ahead get the Arrows and see what happens, the spark plugs will tell. I also got a pair of those eliminators to experiment but primarily I'll try to keep to the O2 sensors. Thanks for the input.

O2 sensor eliminators aka fuel dongle?!

I get what you mean but to be honest I'm still a bit confused because in the same thread a few pages after, the ECU guy states this (last paragraph):

O2 sensor eliminators aka fuel dongle?!

JIq1969, thanks a lot for taking the time to explain, your post is very informative. Notes: If I get it right, the ECUnleashed II reflash still utilizes the O2 sensors. I get no warning light on my 1st gen bike when I unplug the sensors. Am I going to notice poorly burnt fuel and...

    Off idle stumble

Hi Andyb43, good to know, thanks. My bike is also a 1st gen + Akra/K&N/flashed ECU, so I think I'll go ahead and order the Arrow headers. Also, through my "research" on this, I found out that as long as you have the O2 sensors unplugged, you might as well want to consider adding O2 sensor...

    Off idle stumble

Andyb43, thanks for sharing this! May I ask, do you still run the same set-up and if yes, are you as happy with it? Any ill effects from keeping the O2 sensors unplugged? Thanks in advance

O2 sensor eliminators aka fuel dongle?!

Interesting to see, I do realize that it's a simple device but my main concern is still about cancelling the O2 sensors above all. What's the general consensus as for their function, are they only there to adjust the fuelling in order to pass emission tests or do they serve any other...

O2 sensor eliminators aka fuel dongle?!

Thanks, I have already ordered one, but I want to investigate a bit first if it's good in the long run. Do you have the Arrow (or any other decatted) headers and do you know if your bike runs rich or lean? Also do you know if the fuel dongle copes well with a re-flashed ECU?

O2 sensor eliminators aka fuel dongle?!

Hello fellow fiddlers, I know, the -decat headers=>enrich mixture- topic has been beaten to death by now but I just came across this product ...

Cracked new replacement Gen 2 clutch basket, used it anyway..

It really felt smoother for sure! I got it from MSP (motorcycle spare parts.eu) For soem reason it feels like a mission to order from the States, transportation damage risk, customs, waiting times etc. However I see now that Partzilla has it in stock for 450$, express international...

Cracked new replacement Gen 2 clutch basket, used it anyway..

Thank you all for your replies. Looks like the opinions are quite unanimous here. Peace of mind is precious and already challenging enough(to me at least) to obtain.. I should 've sent it back, I don't know what I was thinking, it just felt too hard to put back the old, noisy one...

Cracked new replacement Gen 2 clutch basket, used it anyway..

Hi good folks.. Well, as the title says, while a friend and I were about to install the new replacement Gen 2 hub on my '12 we figured that the part has been dropped during trasportation or something and it was bent, but the worst thing is that hairpin crack by the upper re-enforcement ring...

Help to diagnose vibration at very low speed?

It does help a bit, in my case with the MotoZ it almost knocks me off my balance, specially on slow U turns and generally at the same rolling speed you mentioned. The alternating tread pattern causes some weird lateral wobble. In fact I dont know how to feel about these tires anymore, I also...

Help to diagnose vibration at very low speed?

Hi everyone for once more, Okay, I had to put my pieces together to get back here & report, in case it helps someone in the future. Long story short, after literally taking apart half of the bike ( checked bearings, re-adjusted spokes, final drive therefore swingarm/schock etc etc) I...

How old are you Super Ten rider?

38 but I feel like 62.. Either way, I 've been a die hard fan of Yamaha's XT series: 500cc '79, 550cc '82. Then it was love at the first "braaap!" when I got introduced to the crossplane parallel twin through XTZ 750 super tenere and 3 TDM's later on until I got my '11...

Help to diagnose vibration at very low speed?

Maybe I'm in a hurry to start narrowing things down here, points taken. But wouldn't the U-joint be more engaged and/or behave differently under load? I already tried to spin the wheel when off the ground and it seemed fine.. Tires: Remote chance or not, that's a legit thought. I don't...

Help to diagnose vibration at very low speed?

That's a good call, I made sure though I tighten then cap-nuts after the axle thanks to Checkswrecks' instructions in a thread here. The alingment is to be double checked soon however, for the peace of mind

Help to diagnose vibration at very low speed?

SkunkWorks, Squibb, Thank you so much both, this somehow feels to be a good catch: I can't really put the right words into it but I'll give it a try: the vibrating force feels too enaging and persistent, directly connected and strong enough to rythmically shake the whole 600lb mass of the...

Help to diagnose vibration at very low speed?

By the way, I 've now done some work on the bike, just to exclude some things more from the potential list of causes, Checked most things I could for tightness, everything seems to be nice and tight. Re-torqued the spokes down to specs. Now, Im aware that I'm far from a specialist so the...

Help to diagnose vibration at very low speed?

You're right, mate, no matter how much I try to describe the issue, it would be better to make an attempt to document it in order for the rest of you to get the picture. My bike is stuck in a public garage now because of the freezing temperatures outside lately and it's basicaly dark down there...
