    Question posting pics in conversations

Cheers Eric that was precisely my thought. I’m no forum expert but I would have thought the way images are posted on the forum, which is clearly in the public domain and accessible by everyone, would be different to the way they are handled via a DM/PM, as they say “there’s always more than 1...

    Key Problems

For those of us in the UK (or outside of the UK if you can ship your stuff to them) this place can make you a new red key if you need one or can produce black keys from a black key https://www.carmoelectronics.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=990

    Question posting pics in conversations

Thanks for your explanation Eric, I only asked the question as Venture mentioned in post #15 that he was looking into it so I thought I’d ask! I ass-umed (thanks Sierra1:)) that the insert picture icon would allow me to - well insert a picture directly, as opposed to using the insert a link...

    Key Problems

I wouldn’t drill them out, use a sharp centre punch and hammer to loosen them by tapping the head round anti clockwise, once loosened they will come out easy enough. Over the years I’ve done dozens like this ( mostly on cars) and never had a problem.

    Key Problems

I’m pretty certain the US bikes don’t have transponders in the keys that interact with the ECU to prevent it from starting, therefore they don’t need to program their keys using the red key

    Used S10 advice

15k miles vs 31k miles, that mileage makes no difference- IMHO, however condition and history means a great deal more. Have you taken a look at either or both of them?

OEM side cover instal on XT 1200 Z

Not in the UK/Europe, you could still get an XT1200Z (without the electronic suspension etc.) in 2020 along with the ZE’s but they were not eligible for first registration from 01/01/2021 because of emissions regulations. However a lot of bikes held in stock were registered by dealers before the...

    What’s happening in 2024

Rob, .gov website says otherwise. I suspect it’s as a result of the gift that keeps on giving, otherwise known as Brexit https://www.gov.uk/driving-abroad/international-driving-permit

    Engine warning light

Is it deffo light number 4 as shown in the owners handbook (see image below) that remains on? If that’s the case it should be oil level, so should be easy to resolve. If it’s light 5, then that is the engine light and will need further investigation. I have an OBD reader and a dongle to...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

I second what Boris says above. I too stayed in a few huts when I couldn’t be bothered with my tent and they were always warm and very comfortable. I thought I had morphed into Owen Wilson - wow, WOW around so many turns, and it’s not even a word I use! Unfortunately I missed out the Lofoten...

Luggage choice : Bummot, Metal Mule, Touratec, Holan

I am very much aware of that, which is why I have a Givi 42L top box with OEM top opening panniers. But your original question asked about side opening boxes, not top opening boxes being used with large top boxes

Luggage choice : Bummot, Metal Mule, Touratec, Holan

Why would the top box get in the way of side opening boxes? It’s possible that top opening panniers may not open properly with some large top boxes, particularly if the panniers are hinged rather than the lift off type, but I can’t see how side opening ones would be affected - unless I’m...

Looking for a power pack car jumper starter like NOCO GB40 to carry in top box

Thanks for that link Rob. Given that 10 AWG IS 2.588mm, does anyone know off hand the thickness of the starter cable on the S10? I’m just wondering if 9 AWG (2.906mm) or even 8 AWG (3.264mm)would be better, if that’s the case I’ll probably need to make up my own pigtail. I had been working on...
