My Re-Spring of the S10 ES Shock

A short while ago I took apart my ES shock and found that only the compression side is adjustable. In the pictures below there is a standard looking piston with normal compression and rebound shim stacks and a hole at the top of the shock cylinder leading to the electronic adjuster. The only way...

    Help needed from UK members!

Hi, I live close to Fishguard and it would be great to meet another S10 owner but this is bad timing because on Wed I will be on my way to the ferry. However a few suggestions to see would be Newgale Beach, the cathedral in St Davids, the road over the Preseli Hills (B4329) but watch out for...

Where are everyone going this year - 2022.

I'm off to Spain on Wednesday for three weeks and will probably do a clockwise loop using some of Ride Magazine's routes weather permitting. Have been a few times before at this time of year and as long as plans are flexible the weather is not usually a problem. Brittany Ferries are doing the...

My Re-Spring of the S10 ES Shock

WJ, I was only talking about shocks in my first post on this, so bringing in forks just confuses things as the fork cartridges are mounted the opposite way to the shock. As we know any damping only works when oil is forced under pressure through an orifice and on the shock rebound stroke the...

is Super Tenere still a good buy today?

I had a MKII Versys 1000 before my S10, it was a great bike especially with Maxton suspension upgrades. The agility was amazing, however when it passed 14k miles or so it started to develop a gearbox wine which drove me nuts so it had to go. The tube of U has many vids of noisy gearboxes from...

My Re-Spring of the S10 ES Shock

I also recently upgraded the shock spring for something slightly stiffer and looking at the shock while it was off the bike the damping adjustment is at the top of the shock. On every shock I have seen the rebound adjustment is at the bottom and compression at the top. This makes sense when you...

    Givi Airflow vs Stock Screen

I've been a big fan of Givi Airflow screens for a while, starting with one on my Versys 1000 and now have one on my S10 but with Touratec adjustable brackets for a MKI. I've also tried the old Versys Airflow on the S10, it is a bit wider so better for colder weather.....but have not done a lot...

How to level the seat video

When I did my seat levelling mod I heated up the tongue with a hot air gun and bent it to where it needed to be, also it can be reversed if it ever need to be out back to stock.

Do you live in the UK and run OEM panniers?

Even better is to buy a short length of ally tubing of ebay and make your own to any length.

SuperTen, to change or not to change?

I've only had my ST about 18 mouths so a relative newcomer here but have covered over 12k miles so far. It is a great bike, but for me it does not tick all the boxes all the time so another bike/s works for me. There are loads of great used bikes out there for not a lot of dosh and if you like...

Blew out my rear ES shock. What now?

I recently had my ES shock out to add a couple of preload shims, after reading on here about taking it out through the top or bottom I found it easier to go the top route. It is tricky the first time but like all things when you know how etc. VIP Before the shock come out set the preload the to...

Life! (corona virus, non informative, non hysterical post)

Went shopping at my usual local Tesco's yesterday and very very few shelves were empty, there was plenty of food etc. I guess these days everyone is used to getting what they want when they want it and it comes as a shock when they can't have it. Had a good ride today for a few hours (on the...

Blew out my rear ES shock. What now?

I believe they can be rebuilt, but no doubt old hands on here will be able to confirm this.
