I didn't actually take it on the salt flats, I was warned not to as it would I would have to make sure I washed it immediately to prevent corrosion. I did take it the straight pavement, (no traffic), and took it to 7500 rpm in top gear before I backed off. I don't remember the exact speed...

Could you get an ES in '13? These are '13s, non-ES. As far as I know, ESs came out in '14.

Yes! Both my buddy and I have the same bike! One time we parked at a pub beside another white one and the owner came out. He did a bit of a whoa!:D

    Valve Stems

I did hear someone from Cyclops told somebody they had to print that warning for legal purposes, and a rubber stem is perfectly fine. I was just going to get a tire changed so I thought if it wasn't too much of a hassle, I would get a metal stem installed at the same time. Grinding and filing...

    Shinko 705: A cautionary tale

Never had a problem with the 705. Got a flat, but you can't blame the tire for that. Replaced it with the same but am going on a 4500-mile trip soon so am going to replace that one with something slightly more aggressive. Thought I would try a Continental TKC70 Rocks for yucks.

Bargain top box - Harbor Freight Apache 3800

Is that surprising? It's made of plastic, and my '13 even has a sticker saying "maximum weight 5kg, (11lbs)" on it. Something else I found interesting. I went on to Yamaha's website looking at the top box that they want ONE MILLION DOLLARS for, (ok $900 something CDN), and it says not to use...

tired of chit-chat?- post / view a picture only here.

This was the only bike I ever bought brand new. Managed to get some papers for it so I could plate it. Hung a mirror on it, squeeze bulb horn and a dimmer switch and it was ready to rock! Found out real quick it wasn't good for the street. Too wheelie prone and played hell on the knobbies. :p
