LOOKING FOR A QUALITY WHEEL BALANCER

This will work fine and last for years. I have one similar that I've used in the shop for 25+ years...

    Issues After Clutch replacement

I would pull the plates back out and check again that everything is in the correct place and make sure the little ball bearing #24 is still there. If 24 is gone it would reduce the amount of distance the push rod can move to disengage the clutch.

    Fried stator

I don't think that's so. I bought Yamaha parts from an Illinois dealer weekly for 30+ years and a lot of times he would let me know that a part was going to take an extra couple of days to get because it was being "cross shipped" from another warehouse.

What are "necessary adjustments" on a stator?

    Super Tenere License Plate Holder

I got my plate frame from Gene in today. It is very well made and should outlast me. I really like that the back is recessed and the license plate sits in the frame instead of the frame just sitting on top of the plate. I cannot recommend highly enough. I'm going to have to get some made for...

Will anyone in the USA rebuild the ABS control module?

You can always throw the ABS pump in the garbage, buy three brake hoses and ride with regular old fashioned brakes. I haven't done an abs bypass on a Tenere, but I have on a few BMW GS 1200's and they all had better brakes after the bypass. We have an inmate on this forum that did his Tenere and...

Questionable security on mobile banking apps

Eric, I have two bank apps on my phone and use both of them to deposit checks. Neither of them put the photo of the check in my photos folder. I guess the app sends the photo and doesn't keep a copy. I am going to go through my apps and see if I have any that has access to my photos and I'm...

Super Tenere will not start - send help or dumpster

The first thing I always do when something won't start is to verify that the spark plugs are firing. This will let you know which direction to go. You said you cleaned the plugs. I would put new plugs in. If the plugs are new and firing and it has compression, then you most likely have a fuel...

Questionable security on mobile banking apps

You give the bank app permission to access your camera, then you hold the phone over the check and the app snaps a picture and sends it to the bank.

Questionable security on mobile banking apps

Someone had to own the bank account the cloned check went to. They would have all their info on file including S.S. number and drivers license. The scammers probably hacked someone's account and as soon as the check hit that account, they sent it right back out to a bank in Nigeria where it...

    Tire balance

You can wrap the beads up in a small piece of Saran Wrap and drop them in the wheel. The Saran Wrap will be turned into dust in short order. Some of the beads come pre-measured in small plastic bags and you just drop in the bag. In the shop it was a lot cheaper to buy the beads by the pound and...

    Tire balance

Just be very careful when dealing with the beads and don't spill them. They will bounce like rubber balls and go everywhere and I mean everywhere. I had some lock up my tire changer once. The jaws on the tire changer that hold the rim slide back and forth on the steel turn table with just a few...

    Aux Lighting Socket Socket

The aux plug is only rated for 36 watts and I think the RDL heated seat will be three times that and more. Run a fused hot wire directly from the battery to a rely and from the rely to the seat switch. Run a trigger wire to the rely that is hot with the key on.

    Tire balance

I never pushed DynaBeads on customers because I just didn't know if they worked. I did sell and install a barrel full of them because customers wanted them. I'm still not a believer, but I can't disregard their water bottle trick either.

    Tire balance

I built my first static balancing stand in the early 70's, back before you could even buy one. Probably mounted and balanced 10K+ tires since then, so I do understand the art of balancing. In a shop environment you just don't have the time to do all that weight moving around, so trimming weights...

    Tire balance

Most stick on weights are 1/4oz or 7gr. Back when wheel weights were made of lead they were smaller than the current steel that's available. It was easy to use some side cuts and trim the weights down just a little at a time and get the balance darn near perfect. Now days with steel weights...

    See or be seen

IMO, motorcycle riding is like most other sports, it's a game of offense and defense. In most sports if you score, you might win, but if the other team can't score, you can't loose. Defense is where it's at. I have always assumed that every car I meet is going to turn in front of me and every...

It will exit desulfate/repair mode and return to standby automatically.
