    No more tank bag!! Hurray!!

Big difference between 40 pounds of fuel (8 pounds per gallon) and a few pounds in the tank bag. The heaviest thing in my tank bag is my pistol and spare mag. Other than that, it’s hat, sunglasses, lens cleaner, tire pressure gauge, sunscreen, etc. I might put my small camelbak in it instead of...

    Interesting article on helmets.

Wear a quality full faced helmet that fits you well and that is 90% of the solution. A full faced helmet protects more than a half or 3/4 helmet. A well fitting, comfortable helmet is one that you will actually wear and not leave on the shelf at home. IMO, that is more important than which...

    First ride 2012 S10 impressions

The fuel light on my ‘15 is very conservative. I still have 1.5 gallons left when it comes on. The bike definitely prefers a little higher EPMs when shifting.

Just a bit. I was heading down to Ibapah to hop on the Pony Express Trail that morning so I only had a few minutes.

    Helmet Opinions.

It fits exactly like the original Krios. The buckle is absolutely amazing. I can pop it off at a stoplight, scratch my head, put it back on and fasten the buckle without ever taking my gloves off.

    Helmet Opinions.

I love my Krios Pro. I’ve done 3700 miles in it over the last 8 days. It is DIT and ECE certified, and it’s all day comfortable.

Help me find boots for my fat feet.

After 3 days and 1400 miles, the Toucans have broken in really well. I’m glad I decided to stick with them.

Fixed the heel tightness. I stuffed a yeti tumbler upside down in each boot and left them overnight. It stretched the heels out and they are just fine now.

    Which route would you take?

So my next question is, how do I get home? I originally planned to ride east through SLC and then go north to south through CO, and then cut through northern NM and head home. Should I skip northern CO and ride south through UT and then east into CO? If so, where?

    Which route would you take?

I really don’t think heat will be an issue except for maybe the first day. I plan to make it from here to SD in 2 days, which will make for a couple long days on the highway, but will give me time to play around later on.

    Which route would you take?

Trip planning part 2: Devil’s Tower to Cody, WY Cody to Idaho Falls via Yellowstone Idaho Falls to Wendover, UT via the Golden Spike historical site and the Transcontinental Railroad Backcountry Byway Wendover to Tooele via the Pony Express Trail National Backcountry Byway. Total for first...

Help me find boots for my fat feet.

So, after the lackluster showing from the Avantours, I decided to give the Toucans a second chance. I’ve been wearing them around the house all day with 2psirs of socks on, and they definitely seem to be loosening up a bit. I’ll keep it up for a couple days, but if this keeps up I think the...

Help me find boots for my fat feet.

Well, the Avantours are a bust. The buckles are not great, they fold funny when they close, and they are too small. I ordered a 12, but I would definitely need a 13 in these to have a shot at them fitting, and I just don’t have time to try again.

Help me find boots for my fat feet.

I’m really hoping the Avantours will do the trick. Honestly, the Toucans would probably work. They just need to loosen up a little through a break in.
