Anyone know if the 2020 will be updated?

An update of the T12 is overdue - both in regard to Yamaha'a usual update circle and how far the T12 have fallen behind the competition in terms of features and rider aids. I wouldn't be surprised if we see an update this year. Most likely in November at EICMA. The T12 is a solid platform, and...

How long does stock suspension last?

I changed the oil in the forks after 3 years (80.000km) and at 100.000 km the suspension still works like a charm on my 2015 model.

    YeeHAAA!! Got me a Tenere!

Congrats on your new ride. Sounds like you have found one of the few mechanics who have a clue how to check the spokes on the S10 properly.

    From FJR to S10

Not a former FJR owner, but have a lot of experience with similar bikes. During the last 4 years I've done 100.000 km around Europe on a T12. If you mainly ride tarmac I can't think of a better tool for the job. If I have to cover distance in a hurry, I can sit on the Autobahn doing 150 km/h...

    The 2021 Yamaha Tenere 700

Much more than the KLR, but like the Kawa it haven't been available from new for several years because of the European emission standards.

    The 2021 Yamaha Tenere 700

Not that surprising considering that the KLR have been dead and buried for years here in Europe - and never got very popular in the first place.

Filter change - every or every other oil change

I change oil filter at every oil change (10.000 km) and replace the crush gaskets every time. In the past I've reused crush gaskets and my experience is that it works fine for a while - until it suddenly doesn't... At 100.000 km my S10 runs better than ever and don't have any measurable oil...

An interesting day - test riding V85TT, 790 Adventure and T7.

Went for a ride today. Had to stop and snap a picture: Almost broken in now and ready for another 100.000 trouble free kilometers.

An interesting day - test riding V85TT, 790 Adventure and T7.

The account is the result of an conscious decision I made very early in my adult life. I realized that one of the main keys to freedom was a healthy economy. I initial achieved that by working double jobs for a few years (in my early twenties) to clear my debts. At the same time I became very...

An interesting day - test riding V85TT, 790 Adventure and T7.

Looking at the specs and features, V85TT seems like an obvious alternative to the S10, but the riding experience is vastly different. The styling is bold and a love or hate thing. I agree that it's very likely that Yamaha will update the S10 in the near future. It will be very interesting to...

An interesting day - test riding V85TT, 790 Adventure and T7.

The thing is that I have a "new bike" account where I put in around $1.000 every month to enable me to ride my preferred bike at any time. I haven't touch it since I bought my S10 four years ago (the longest I've ever kept a bike), so I have a pocket full of "free" money. This might be part of...

An interesting day - test riding V85TT, 790 Adventure and T7.

Trying to be objective I found V85TT to be inferior to the competition in regard to engine, transmission, suspension and handling. This is a bike you buy with your heart.

Try the Guzzi before you make any decisions - you might love it. The Beast certainly have personality. It just doesn't match my preferences. As mentioned earlier I'm in no hurry to replace the S10, so I'm also looking forward to see what the competition comes up with as an answer to especially...

An interesting day - test riding V85TT, 790 Adventure and T7.

Even without considering the price I liked the T7 best - mostly because of its amazing engine and great suspension setup.

An interesting day - test riding V85TT, 790 Adventure and T7.

Finally I arrived at the Yamaha dealer (where I bought my S10 4 years ago). No demo bikes currently available but the sales manager had bought one that he kindly let me take for a spin. Amazing engine! Minimal mechanical noise and very nice exhaust note. Pulls smoothly and powerful from 2k...

An interesting day - test riding V85TT, 790 Adventure and T7.

Next stop: The KTM dealer. It's the Adventure R that interests me, but the dealers only have non R demo bikes. After the V85TT the engine felt very smooth but it produced a lot of mechanical noise. Very nice and precise transmission. Feather light clutch, but I didn't use it much as the bike...

An interesting day - test riding V85TT, 790 Adventure and T7.

First bike I tried was the Guzzi. It belonged to the owner of the Guzzi dealer I visited. Besides a bigger wind screen it was fitted with a de-cat open exhaust. Fit , finish and quality feel was head and shoulders above the other 2 bikes - some of this was due to much less plastic on the bike...
