Thought I'd introduce myself and say hello. Picked up a new leftover 2018 ES a couple of months ago for a price I couldn't pass up. I'm coming from a Tiger 800 (as well as several others over the years) and so far I'm enjoying it. It's quite a different ride in my opinion than the Tiger. I've got a little under 1K miles so far. I've mounted my Mosko bags and small tank bag. I have a Madstad coming and some engine guards and skid plate waiting to go on shortly. Also, looking for some advice on a top box/backrest to make 2 up more comfortable for my passenger. I have a couple of Givi boxes that I've tried but they tend to be located too far forward and end up making my passenger uncomfortable. I don't have a passenger often and prefer to ride without a top box normally so an easily removable box or backrest is desirable.

Thought I'd share a couple of pics from this week while out enjoying the incredible mid-November weather here in Ohio. Can't wait to get the miles piled up and get it all dialed in.

Thanks,
Scott

Welcome from Texas. You have your plans in order, so all that's left is to enjoy her.

Welcome. You live just North of a handful of roads I am eager to ride- in Southern Ohio.

For what it is worth- my big beer gut, and my overweight daughter, make 2 up uncomfortable no matter what top case I have on. It is a shame, my (special needs) kid loves to have motorcycle rides.

Welcome from Idaho. Nice bike. I have a Givi top box and it sits too far forward with the aluminum Givi rack. I was going to get a Alt rider rack, but the durability seems suspect. I moved the Givi Rack back 2” by drilling new holes.
I was able to get a Corbin pillion seat, and my wife loves it.

There are a few generic backrests out there as well instead of scooting a box further back on it's fragile lever. And welcome!

Welcome, Scott!
Your photos look like they might have been taken at Hoover or Delaware Reservoirs???

I lived outside of Athens, Ohio for a few years and to me, the SE Ohio roads are overrated. There are some scenic roads, sure, but far too few "curves" compared to TN / NC / GA. The SE OH roads I was shown were just like roller coasters.....up and down and up and down.
