Loading up to ride to Iowa yesterday to help my brother on the farm. It was going to be cool so I dug out the Darn Tough wool socks and put them on. Headed down to gear up. Three finished wooden steps down. My foot only hit the first one. Landed hard on my back. Tried to getup for about an hour with my wife before calling 911. I'm laying on the floor looking up at my jacket with the back protection wishing I had had it on.

Got my first ambulance ride to the ER. Broke the three ribs I landed on. Blood pressure kept dropping so they kept me over night. Hope to go home today, but it will be a while before I ride again. Lesson learned, don't mix slick socks and finished stairs.

Glad your ok, and get well soon. 2020 has been a tough year health wise, and that’s not including Covid

Ouch. That sounds painful and will teach you to wear your jacket at all times!

As soon as I saw wool socks. . . . and wood floor. . . . I knew what was coming next. When I did it, I was much younger than I am now, so I didn't break. Be glad you didn't smack your head. Get well soon.

On your way to everywhere, , Iowa
And I was just talking to my wife about calling you up and seeing if you wanted to go on a week or more trip.
Maybe next year, recover soon.

If this is the first time with broken ribs, I'll offer you some advice no one gave me. Whatever you do, I don't care how hard it is, do NOT sneeze. Trust me on this one.

Heal quickly. (then start sneezing again)

You need to come back to AZ this winter, and look us up this time!
