Old thread, but curious, photos aren't showing up, what front fender ending up working? I went through the replies, I think it's a Suziki, but year/make/model? Long winters here in Maine and I trashed a front wheel so going to the 21" Thanks in advance. -Geoff

I don't know what fender Wasp Works used. He never really sold that kit for mounting a high fender. I put one on my '12 just using Home Depot sourced items and fabbing a basic mount from a piece of L bracket. Another S10 owner also mounted a high fender and created a template. PM me with your email if you want a pdf copy of the template with dimensions. Removing the rubber plug at the bottom of the triple trees and installing a bracket there with an expansion bolt is quite secure. Mine never moved. For a fender, I just used the remnants of my broken OEM fender.

But there is still that pesky crossover brake hose to deal with........
Most hydraulic hose shops will make you a custom line to eliminate it. Call first and ask if they can make up brake lines. It requires smaller fittings than the typical hydraulic lines for equipment that they make every day. You just need to use some fuel line or plastic tubing to figure out what length and route to use with the new line, then let the shop help you find the right fittings and orientation for the ends.

edit - Strain relief is IMPORTANT. Make sure you secure the line so it doesn't flop around or it will end up failing at a fitting.

Waaaay back when this thread was active in 2012, most of us used Photobucket to host the photos we would post and it was free. Photobucket decided overnight to demand very expensive subscriptions and without payment, they cut users' links so those old photos are gone.

Here are some photos I saved from Wasp's posts in this thread. Bracket for high fender and conversion to dual lines to brakes from upper brake junction. I found a common junction when I did it, which had a larger bolt hole, but worked with the existing mounting point. I don't have info on that, it was years ago.

That’s some nice fender work. I considered this after I did a face plant in the Ms. gumbo mud with a locked up front wheel. I decided to just to stay away from mud on a 600 plus lb. bike after walking a few miles out in the cold rain.

Here is the Dirt bike Fender Mount Template Adjust holes for what ever fender you choose. From what I recall, the two piece styles where you can mount just the front half work well. The back is sometimes too long to clear and may require trimming. I trimmed my OEM fender, (what was left after I broke it off a couple of times, once in the back when I caught the Fenda Extenda™ on the Rumbux skid plate, then again at the mounting holes when I bottomed the forks out on a hard hit and hit the 1" raised fender on my center mounted aux light, (not shown in pic)). So it was short in back already.

Thanks for the reply Eric. Do you have the .DXF for the mount? How did you like the 21" front, any regrets? Whenever I break a moto or car part I usually upgrade, so hence my curiosity to go larger. Thanks for the photos of the brake lines, Happen to have the lengths? Diameters, fitting sizes?

I didn't make the drawing, so all I have is a .pdf copy. I stuck with stock size wheels. No interest for me on the 21" front since I rode more pavement and gravel than off road. The 21" wheel wanders more at freeway speeds than the 19". I just wanted the mud clearance and eliminating the cross over line for an Alaska trip. Woody's Wheel Worx will make you a 21" wheel with ABS/TCS sensor rotor bolt holes, but it's a spoked wheel that will require either sealing to make it tubeless, or running a tube. And that wheel is not cheap.

Lengths of the lines depends on how you choose to route them and secure them. Take a line with you and they will help with the fittings. You will want to know your lengths and how you intend to secure the block at the bottom of the triple tree. You will also need to know your end banjo fitting angles unless you use swivel ends or separate ends on a hose with threaded ends. A shorter bolt for one side too, since you're removing the cross over line. As I said before, mock it up with tubing or 1/4" fuel line to see what lengths you need. Brake lines only come in one size, though you get to choose from a variety of colors in braided stainless steel w/vinyl covering. Don't bother trying to get rubber lines, they are nearly as expensive as the S/S braid and not as durable anyway.

I have some Yamaha short brake bolts for the banjo fittings and some right side brake line clamps. The bolts are the exact Yamaha part used on the right, (throttle), side already. P/N 90401-10172. The hose clamp is P/N 2D1-25876-00 (Holder, Brake Hose 2). I bought these when I was selling two line kits years ago. I'm happy to get rid of some or all of these. Postage sucks these days for small first class packages. I'd sell (1) bolt and (1) brake hose holder for $15 shipped in CONUS. That's about what you'd pay at your local dealer and I'm eating the $6 in postage and packaging.

I have (7) of the bolts and (19) of the brake hose holders. If someone wants them all, I'd let them go for $60 shipped in CONUS. That's about $180 worth of parts.

Two threaded holes below and behind the headlamp, they're the same holes used for mounting a light bar up front. There's a vendor over on the TenereUSA facebook site making and selling a front fender lift and longer crossover line. Hmm, Ladlesport is here as well.
