I want more power. Any ideas on a fjr motor swap to a s10 or am I way off base?

Buy an fjr. Problem solved. Anything can be achieved with the application of sufficient money and talent but the modifications you would have to make wouldn't justify the outlay in my humble opinion, but it's your money and time so give it a go if you want it badly enough. I can't imagine fitting an inline 4 into the frame of a parallel twin will be easy. What about a vmax engine instead?!

Not trolling! I like the ergonomics of the s10 but feel it lacks in the corners. I don't see it holding up to prolonged use at redline which seems to be where the performance is. Love the bike but its a bit of a turd...

998 engine? Honestly why not have more power? I thought I could tap into some knowledge on here... I guess its s10 or fjr, two completely different riding positions, handling and power.. thought it was a cool idea. Too bold I suppose.

Wouldn't it be easier, and cheaper to just buy a KTM?
Hmm, probably. I still dream of the day where ST-10! Inline 4, 10k rpm redline, 140ish hp... just a dream for now. Thanks for the comments guys/gals.

Lol that is how you know he doesnt own an s10.

The performance is low end grunt, not on the top of the rpm range. Curve is very flat on these bikes.

It's a very common swap here in CA where reliability and performance is needed. Very simple job with a few hand tools, wiring harness, and motor mounts. The shaft is plug and play as it is the same as the FJR. I did this swap a few years back for a friend of mine and it is very easy.

Both the FJR and Super Tenere are very underpowered machines. The performance limitation of an FJR swap becomes apparent at around 140mph. Start looking in the classifieds. There are dozens of these conversions. Keep in mind that the motor and chassis is going to be limited to under 150mph. After that the shaft vibrates and it becomes unsettled.

I'm waiting delivery on my new Kawasaki Ninja H2. Then it's off to the dyno and shop to install a set of cams, port the heads, add blower boost, and new intake/exhaust to extract some more power. There are really no modern street legal OEM motorcycles on the market today that have sufficient power for the pro level rider such as myself.

When I raced the Supersport circuit I was on board a Yamaha YZR-M1. It proved to be the perfect bike for the tracks here in the states. Unfortunately it cannot meet the EPE regulations to make it street legal. Sadly it just sets in my storage gathering dust.

Has @ballisticexchris got a new account on the side ;) , Just for fun?
Any moderator with savvy would be able to track down multiple accounts with ease using an IP search. It simply does not work.

To me the T12 is a parts bin bike. Nothing new, or high tech. The E-Suspension, and cruise from the FJR are the "highest tech" it has. But, that's also why the price is as low as it is. . . . compared to the competition. I also think that's why the OE boxes are like they are.

I have to say i really love my FJR and my old FJ motor. I like the power of both of them but the FJR really puts the power down exactly like i tell it to. It makes better power across the rpm range. For me it is even easier to ride in slick conditions than the Super T. Yes the Super T doesn't make the power the FJR does but on the same token i saw a feller in Deals Gap a few years ago on a Super T and I am not sure there was anybody there that day that could have out ran him. Other than after market stuff i didn't see anything special on that bike. Yes the Super T has a lower power output over all but even on crotch rockets not that much power is used in the corners. That feller could ride and didn't have a fear of crashing or losing his license i suppose. I think he could have out ran everybody on a scooter. Just saying it always isn't the fastest bike that is the fastest.
